Honestly a pretty good Chinese restaurant that’s not hugely authentic - perfect for local crowd. We ordered their mix fried noodles (each plate is perfect for 2 persons), sweet corn chicken soup, chili chicken gravy, sweet and sour fish, Saudi champagne and dynamite shrimps. All tasted excellent except the dynamite shrimps - didn’t have that authentic flavor and was chewy. Noodles were perfect in taste and balanced beautifully with the fish and chicken.
I’ve been to quite a few similar Chinese restaurants in the city and all of them provide soy sauce and green chilies soaked in vinegar along with the soup but here they didn’t provide it voluntarily. I had to ask for it and when I did, the staff were confused as if I asked for something out from the space. Very strange.
I was also disappointed to see the restaurant not offering any dishes with Szechuan sauce which is something available elsewhere.
Staff were slow but did the job. Prices in my opinion are high but worth a visit once in a while. We came here on a Thursday night and the restaurant was fairly empty so there’s no need to worry about parking here. Ambiance is great and there are nice family cabins to sit and eat. This branch is surely better than the one...
Read moreUnfortunately, an incredibly lacklustre experience from this restaurant. I had wanted to try Chinese cuisine nearer to home and seen this restaurant from the outdoors; it looks very impressive. Inside, it is well furnished and plenty of seating. Concern started to rise when the member of staff was on the phone, barely acknowledged me and after some time another member of staff inquired whether I’d want to dine-in. I was spoilt for choice in where to sit and chose somewhere conveniently located near the entrance. The menu is extensive and I settled for a starters of “money bags” and calamari. The money bags were delicious and the sauces provided (something sweet and a separate chilli sauce) were very tasty. The calamari on the other hand was quite dry and without any noticeable flavour. Once I had finished my starters, I waited politely for a waiter to come by and after some time I was asked if everything was ok. I took this as my cue to pay and leave. Price was around 68 SAR and I left a suitable tip after the waiter pointed out to me a discount had been applied to my bill. I soon departed where a lukewarm farewell was received and the door opened in to the street for me to find somewhere else to...
Read moreFood was delicious! I’d recommend the lamb dumplings, the chicken dumplings and the szechuan beef! Not a fan of their lemon chicken though; sauce is a tad too sour with some bitter notes. Place is quite cute and theme is on point. Not sure if if’s authentic, we didn’t see any Chinese staff at all, but food was good so no complaints. We ordered two rice, four plates of dumplings, a plate of spring rolls, two chicken dishes, one beef dish, one veg dish, a jug of saudi champagne, a large bottle of water and everything came up to 478sar. Staff was friendly and warm, service is prompt. Had a good...
