Caiman beach bar — Restaurant in La Digue

The Caiman beach and beach bar are some of the finest gems on La Digue, maybe the finest!

First day we arrived from the east coast trail. It’s not exactly easy but not that hard either. You will not regret it if you continue past the cruxes in the beginning of the trail.

It’s such a nice place that we decided to return again a few days later, this time we walked the Caiman trail from Grand Anse beach which takes about 35 minutes if you keep a decent pace.

The bar alone is worth the walk, cold beer, fantastic juices and great service from Kieran and his colleague. They have such a friendly attitude and made our stays such nice experiences!

In addition, the small beach at the bar is one of the best you will find. Protected from the bigger waves, and with great snorkeling outside the rocks on the right side of the beach.

Everybody seems to be loving their juices except me :-( I was really disappointed with my fresh orange juice, which was greatly diluted, barely tasted like an orange juice, with a lot of sugar and vanilla essence (which I suspect was also sugar or syrup based). The vanilla essence did not work for me at all - I could see it marrying well with smoothies but fresh orange juice? I do appreciate that they tried to add extra water to make it less sweet for me after I asked about ingredients (putting extra star for that) but I did walk away with a feeling of disappointment, especially as it was pricier than anywhere else on the island. Hands down the best bar on the whole island! 🍹 The atmosphere is unmatched, the surroundings are beautiful & the staff is SO friendly!

They really care to make the experience unforgettable and the drinks are just honestly next level 😍 Personal favourite: papaya juice & banana smoothie. And the food is 100% delicious as well!

The walk to get here is a nice workout, if you are careful it is not too difficult (just bring good shoes!) and very well worth it.

The beach was small, but one of my favourites with crystal clear water and comfortable access.
