⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ One of the best restaurants in Mahé – outstanding service and refined cuisine

For me, Aloha Restaurant is without a doubt one of the best dining spots on the island of Mahé. Every time I return, I’m impressed by the level of service: flawless, detail-oriented, and incredibly warm. The staff remember everything – your preferences, your favorite dishes – and that makes the experience truly special.

The food is refined, creative, and well-balanced. Each dish is beautifully presented and full of flavor – I especially recommend the pork bao and the truffle chicken wontons. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, perfect for a dinner with friends, a romantic evening, or even a solo treat.

Every detail is taken care of, from the soft background music to the dish presentation and the personal interaction with the team. The chef often stops by the tables to check in, which adds a personal and thoughtful touch to the experience.

Definitely one of the best places in Mahé – highly recommended if you're looking for quality, attention to detail, and that rare feeling of being genuinely welcomed and remembered.

We came here due to the good reviews and expected phenomenal vegetarian Indian food (which is rather difficult to find in Seychelles unless you are eating at one of the 5* resort restaurants).

Unfortunately, we were disappointed. We were okay with the prices and excepted something really good considering the prices are like at the 5* hotel restaurants. But the food is simply not good at any price (maybe it is different if you eat meat / fish dishes).

We ordered a Thai Curry and a Dal Makhani and some Mocktails. The Mocktails were good. But the Thai Curry had very few vegetables portion wise and no authentic vegetables one would expect in a Thai curry at that price point. Both, the Thai Curry and Dal were full with cream, the fat was the main taste of both, otherwise it was bland, lacking authentic taste as you would expect from a Thai Curry or Dal, it was not spicy at all. Due to the richness of the cream we both were saturated but at least to us it doesn’t really feel good being full with butter and cream.

While it was generally served nicely and everything is clean and staff generally attentive, they serve most of the dishes on plastic plates and you will eat from plastic plates (except for the metal ones with the main dish inside to keep it warm). Also, the menu was somewhat misleading because it showed that the Thai curry will be served in a coconut while it was only served in a plastic bowl.

Therefore, and overall, I think that this place has more appearance than substance and I generally agree with the other 3 star reviews.

Too sad because if they would have people from India or other countries cook their meals like they use to, I bet it would be much better. So I hope that they change this and let their staff create the menu and focus on what they are good in rather than preparing for tourists and thinking they want bland dishes full of cream. One reason for the overly good reviews might be the big cruise terminal next to it, with passengers from it coming and having low expectations and high prices on board?

Btw. VAT is included in the prices but there is 10% mandatory service fee. This is only mentioned on a single page between some dishes...

By far the best food we have had on this island. The atmosphere, professional attentive service, decor, all adds to it. There is a vast selection of dishes, mainly Indian. The foods are bursting with flavour. The spicy garlic naan was the best naan I have ever tasted. The New York cheesecake tasted fresh and delicious. The portion is huge, easily enough for two people. It was so good, I had to pack my little bit of cheesecake to enjoy later. The price is a little higher than most places we have visited yet. We spent approximately 1,600 SCR rupees, around 105 euros. Extremely highly recommended.
