Ban Tong Seafood — Restaurant in Singapore

It was a huge crowd on a Sunday! Luckily we came at 5pm. My second visit here. Lady boss is very friendly over the phone and will help to pre-order seafood. She also provide good recommendations on choice of sauces for the seafood.

The cereal crayfish is most popular and we finished every single morsel of the cereal! Coming a close second is the signature box chicken is like deep fried chix slices with Kung Pao sauce. Best paired with beer !!!

Though the braised pork knuckles is only avail in a single size, don’t be daunted by its price. It’s quite a big portion with mushrooms and peanuts as accompaniments. We couldn’t finish and took the rest home for supper !

The female boss also kept half a fresh red snapper for us and it had firm flesh. We went with Teochew steam style with generous condiments on the side.

Skip the prawn roll as it is average. The sambal Kang kong is slightly spicy and you can request...

It has been our go to zhi char restaurant for years. When we’re too lazy to cook, or just want some good Chinese food that we don’t know how to cook, Bantong is always there for us. 😭

A note: one of the few places where you can choose to order the lower part of the fish instead of the fish head. Great for kids and peeps who don’t know how to eat the bone-y parts of the fish head.

We went for lunch at 1230pm today (Sat). Before that i call (see attached for info) for reservation of 7paxs. Cereal crayfish is indeed delicious, we ordered medium size $35. One each only hahaha... Mushroom trotters must try! Got Broccoli also , so actually don't need order vege. Steam fish is fresh and tasty, cost $37... not whole fish though, so i felt abit pricey.
