Title: Overrated, unwelcoming, and not worth the hype

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was honestly disappointing. I visited Bismillah Biryani at Gardens by the Bay only because my daughters were hungry and there weren’t many halal options around. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have chosen it.

The staff were rude, unfriendly, and looked like they couldn’t be bothered. Not a single smile or basic courtesy. What really bothered me was how unwelcoming they seemed — especially towards locals. Tourists may not notice, but the difference in treatment is obvious.

When I asked if they could help pack my unfinished food, they just threw me an empty container with zero effort. For a place that claims to have a Michelin star, the service was a joke.

Even the food was cold, bland, and totally overpriced. Nothing special at all — definitely not worthy of the hype or the price tag.

Honestly, I won’t return and I don’t recommend this place, especially if you’re expecting decent service or actual...

Do not go here if you want the Michelin Bib Gourmand quality.

Their Naan is not the type of bread you world expect if you ordered naan at other shops and I meant this negatively.

Their butter chicken masala is more curry chicken than butter chicken. I felt that I was not given the right dish.

Tried ordering the broast chicken kids meal for my child, but they do not have the broast chicken, even though it is on the menu. Stall assistant suggested that they use their briyani chicken as a substitute for the broast chicken instead, which I agreed.

However, she only informed us that we will be charged for chicken dum briyani instead of the kids meal later on.

She should have just told us that entire kids meal was not available in the first place.

Chicken dum briyani here was average. Not worthy of the Michelin...

It’s located in the Food Hall at garden level in the Jurassic nest! The chicken Dum Biriyani is good , though not as great as the main branch in Dunlop road as it appears the kitchen is there , all items may be Pre cooked and brought here for a bit of bake and serve ! Tried the fish Biriyani also , just out of curiosity, not worth trying again ! The mishti doi or sweet yoghurt is nice ! The samosas are very nice as well , manageable size , crispy and tasty ! You can sit by the glass panes and enjoy the gardens view outside or in full view of the array of dinosaurs (if you have kids) and they will really enjoy the setting ! This place is a much needed addition to the portfolio of eateries here given the profile of tourists...

I have lived in Inda for 3 years and it is my favorite food. So I ordered chicken Tikka boneless, Paneer masala and Naan. 38 Dollar! I thought ok, it's a Michelin recommended place... However, the food was nothing else than awful. Chicken was dry and overcooked, no Tikka taste at all. Paneer only 5 small pieces in a sauce which a sauce like fresh from a can, again nothing like Masala (this alone was 20 SGD!) And the naan... Simply it was not naan. A piece of foam, stale and not even baked or toasted. The only good thing was that the waiter did not debate and gave me my money back. Do not go there!

Supposedly Michelin Bib Gourmand Biryani. Give it a miss. The Biryani is very weak in flavour, and the portion of chicken and the taste is pathetic for the price. The only saving grace is that the chicken is partially juicy (yeah, inconsistent throughout) but is underwhelming nonetheless. The lack of gravy means the rice doesn't have good complement, and the mint yoghurt sauce is really mid. Taken together as a whole, the dish is severely disappointing for something advertised as a must-eat. Even as hungry as I was it was pretty much a waste of calories.

Ordered vegetarian dum biryani for $11.50. Taste wise is okay. Tongue felt like it had been assaulted by the spice. But then it doesn't have much vege at all. None existence. Rice was dry af like 30 yrs old extra virgin 🦫 beaver. I can get better tasting (thanks for the vegetable) biryani with 3 vege for half the price outside of this. And too little yoghurt given as well. Very sad for the tourists who are presented with food of this quality and quantity. Doesn't reflect well of Singapore.
