Title: Overrated, unwelcoming, and not worth the hype
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was honestly disappointing. I visited Bismillah Biryani at Gardens by the Bay only because my daughters were hungry and there weren’t many halal options around. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have chosen it.
The staff were rude, unfriendly, and looked like they couldn’t be bothered. Not a single smile or basic courtesy. What really bothered me was how unwelcoming they seemed — especially towards locals. Tourists may not notice, but the difference in treatment is obvious.
When I asked if they could help pack my unfinished food, they just threw me an empty container with zero effort. For a place that claims to have a Michelin star, the service was a joke.

Chicken dum briyani here was average. Not worthy of the Michelin...
Read moreIt’s located in the Food Hall at garden level in the Jurassic nest! The chicken Dum Biriyani is good , though not as great as the main branch in Dunlop road as it appears the kitchen is there , all items may be Pre cooked and brought here for a bit of bake and serve ! Tried the fish Biriyani also , just out of curiosity, not worth trying again ! The mishti doi or sweet yoghurt is nice ! The samosas are very nice as well , manageable size , crispy and tasty ! You can sit by the glass panes and enjoy the gardens view outside or in full view of the array of dinosaurs (if you have kids) and they will really enjoy the setting ! This place is a much needed addition to the portfolio of eateries here given the profile of tourists...
