Quite disappointed with the experience here. Out of the three visits I have made, I’ve only managed to dine in once despite checking the opening hours prior to the journey over. Found out that this is due to the staff’s break time being unaccounted for within the operational hours listed on their establishment (or Google Maps especially for the first visit - attached picture from first visit on a Saturday, 8/6/24 12PM).
Made my way down with a friend to this place for the swing seats and cozy environment, only to be met by an unforeseen closure of an hour. When asked if we could sit and wait inside until then (as the surrounding area doesn’t have much to do and mosquitoes were flying around), we were turned away as well. I would be understanding if the break was listed like how Korean restaurants choose to take time off in the afternoon, but it’s absolutely disappointing to be turned away for something that is not accounted for within their operating hours stated. Wound up going to a different place instead.
Edit: did not check Google Maps for third visit, but I did ask staff about operational hours during my second visit + checked iG before third visit in case there were any closures not announced on Maps. I’m not sure when the break time was added into Google Maps, but don’t recall it being there during my second visit...

Read moreDuring my daily mini treks in the hood, I had chanced upon this little gem in the woods. A petite and quaint little place, hidden amidst the flora and fauna near old little Queenstown.
The cafe offers a wide variety of tea flavours from Japan and Taiwan etc. You can smell from the display of tea leaves’ samples, take your pick and request for either a hot or iced brew of your choice.
The tea cakes selection was limited on my last visit (which was many many weeks ago… oops… pardon my belated post!) but the brownie and yuzu vanilla sponge cakes were both perfect accompaniment to my apple tea. As the saying goes, it is not the quantity but quality that counts.
There is a small area on the upper deck of the cafe where the owner will at times hold some tea sharing and appreciation workshops. Of which, I envisage intimate and cosy gatherings of friends or teammates, bonding over the zen-ness of tea culture. Last but not least, I am in love with their swing chairs! The perfect setting for some tete-a-tete or precious me-time.
Sipping my hot brew and savouring the sweet delights, I felt momentarily teleported out of Singapore, until I walked out and saw Bus #111 LOL
Have you not googled and bookmarked Coffee Tea...
