Great discovery of Courtallam Border Parotta for authentic flavors of South Indian cuisine just opposite Mustafa and short walk from Farrer Park MRT. Courtallam Border Parotta is Halal certified and operates 24 hours, thus a perfect spot for a good meal anytime of the day from flaky parottas to aromatic curries.
We enjoyed a tantalizing feast where every bite is a journey to the heart of Tamil Nadu. 🍃Leaf Fish Saalna Parotta $12.50: The boneless fish saalna is rich & aromatic and the banana leaves used to wrap the fish, imparts a subtle, herbaceous note. 🐤🔫 Chicken $6.90: Fiery and flavorful dry-style chicken with enjoyable bold spices which is slightly peppery, giving it a fiery, robust kick. 👍 🌾Wheat Parotta (3 Pcs) $4.50: Using dough with wheat added, the crispy and flaky exterior with extra chewy profile is enjoyable with their curries.
♥️PAROTTA BIRIYANI COMBO $24.90 (U.P $28.90) is great for sharing. Chicken Biriyani: The chicken, marinated in yogurt and spices, is tender and juicy, absorbing the rich flavors of the dish and paired perfectly with aromatic basmati rice. Served with curries and raita which complement the richness and spiciness of the biryani. Parotta set: Using dough made in store daily, we enjoyed the crispy and flaky exterior and slightly chewy texture. Best paired with curries! Country Chicken Shreded Onion Fry: Packed with punch and so mouthwatering. Masala Kalakki: Scrambled egg which is fluffy with bold masala flavors.

Read moreMy wife and I had a disgusting experience today. We ordered salna parota, mutton biriyani and chicken fried rice to go. My wife found an one inch long worm in the salna parota. We immediately called the restaurant and informed the situation. The manager spoke to us and arranged for a refund.
But more than the refund we were concerened, since this is a huge mistake on the restaurant.
We spoke to the manager again and asked what action they have taken for this. He said that they already threw the gravy away and prepering a fresh batch.
We then explained him that they should check on their hygiene on a regular basis. But then the manager said "ok I'm getting another call which I have to attend". We told him that we are also customers and discussing about an issue regarding their food. But it seems like they don't consider the matter serious. Then he again said "I'm getting calls continuesly and I have to attend it".
Eventhough he spoke to us camly and politely, this is completely irresponsible of him. We said that to him and hung up.
It seems like they they do not understand the severity...
Read moreBeen here a few times and find the food amazing. Obviously it's nothing close to the original Border Rahmath near Courtallam, but I feel that this outlet have done justice to the brand. Best part is the parotta and salna. For those from the southern parts of Tamil Nadu, we're used to smaller size parottas and fantastic salna - something that we always yearn for and Border kadai gives us that homely feeling. Decent gun chicken (fried masala chicken thigh), though the coconut oil flavour (found in the original kadai) was missing. Pichi potta kozhi (shredded chicken) and masala kalakki (kind of half fried masala eggs - again, something specific to South TN parotta shops) were awesome.
They have also provided satisfaction for the local palate, having dishes like mee goreng, nasi goreng and also some North Indian dishes - I do see commercial sense in having it. They also had deer meat, only available over the weekend, didn't try it though. Next time - cuz I'll be back! Overall, nice homely food and...
