My oh my, I have truly found a favorite dessert place. I came across this dessert place when I was celebrating a friend's birthday in early 2022. And I can honestly say, I have tasted one of the best Cheng Teng by far. I remember my group ordered a few of the desserts and the Cheng Teng was the one that stood out and it tasted like nothing I have tasted before. It warmed my heart having tried it l, and I fell in love with it.

The other dessert that I remembered was the Mango Ice. When it was served it had a glistening shine and a lushness mango ice shaving to it. It was fit for a sharing among 4 pax for sure. The owner warned us, but well, our tummy was screaming for dessert (even after a KBBQ session just before this). When it came, we were surprised by both the size and the taste. Mango ice at every bite and there's this mango ball that would just burst in the mouth that adds little mangoy tangy goodness to the dessert. Highly recommend if you love mango and you're there as a big group looking to share.

Since then, I have been going back to them for the 7th time today. While I love the Cheng Teng which I will always order (either to eat there or well, to go). My dessert tummy always has a spot for glutinous rice balls with ginger soup. Which no matter how many time I have gone there and tried ordering, it's always sold out. So boss and lady boss of darkness dessert, please give me your contact number and I can pre-order in advance before I head down. XD

Well, I have nothing but the highest praise to this dessert place. Highly recommend. Or just try, taste is subjective, so just try. Don't blame me if you love it like I do.

Bosses of the dessert place, make more ginger soup please. Save some for me 😅

Update: the boss left some ginger soup for me 🥹 and it's amazing 🥹 thank you! I'll definitely...

Visited this place after dinner to try out some of the desserts. Had an early dinner so the place wasn't too crowded yet but more people started streaming in when we finished our desserts. Place has this pretty simple oriental feel, and the staff are pretty friendly. The menu is in a bad shape with the laminate peeling and the pictures and words are too small for old people like me. Though we were only 2 people, we decided to stretch ourselves and order 3 desserts to try. And to our surprise the shop decided to give us a complementary dessert! Well eventually we tried and managed to finish 3.5 bowls of it. First the black glutinous rice. I loved it and I enjoyed having it with the coconut ice cream. Who cares if the black glutinous rice is not hot it would just not be hot after eating with the ice cream. Then the mango sago with vanilla ice cream. Very generous with mango and sago, what I didn't like was the combination with vanilla ice cream it became like an iced milk mango, I guess it's personal preference but my friend was okay with it while I would just prefer the traditional mango pomelo sago. The yam paste was very good in my opinion. Very thick and smooth you don't really get bits. Added a scoop of durian which the staff told was frozen would probably need to wait a while to chill. We waited and it was easy to break the durian but didn't bring out much of the durian taste. I thought it would overpower the yam taste but it didn't. The complementary was the grass jelly with mango. As usual generous with toppings enjoyed the toppings but the ice was overly sweet. Decent desserts with reasonable price. Good place to enjoy desserts and chill if it's...

saw the good reviews online and decided to try it. but i must say it was a disappointing first experience with them.

the mango shave may be expensive but still reasonable , as it’s considered big for the portion. def for sharing instead of one. but that’s where is starts to went wrong too. as it’s our first time visiting, i was super shock with the portion as my friends and i had ordered our individuals. upon seeing the shave, i told the young lady to change to takeaways straight before it melts. since i don’t think i can finish it that soon. she said i can eat and pack later . after 5minutes i see the mango mountain still attached well, i told the aunty inside the kitchen to pack it takeaway for me. there’s at least 3/4 of the mountain left still, squeezed into 2 small tupperware ( the can is placed for reference of the container size ) initially we were skeptical if really all can fit in the 2. but we just cleared and definitely sure the aunty THREW away our shaves. because we haven’t even eat the mango bubble pops and the ingredients at the bottom before we pack. and i came home with just 2 plain ice shaves, no bites.

all in all, only order mango shave for sharing , never order for individual unless you planning to hog the limited seats there for real long. because you will be scammed if you cannot finish and decided to change to takeaway. i will not recommend take out customers for any takeaways especially. picture says it all, try if you are feeling rich. very upsetting first experience the shop, felt scammed. try at...

Let’s start with the positive part of this shop, the lady boss or manager is very courteous to customers and helpful with queries. The shop is air-conditioned which is a always welcome in Singapore’s weather. The physical menu is hard to read because the pictures and fonts are tiny and there are a lot of variation so one suggestion is to re-design the menu to allow people to glance through quickly like big pictures and fonts layout in a grid format. The data connection in the shop is terrible so it doesn’t help to direct people to the online menu which takes a long time to load so the physical menu needs to improve. Now the main problem with this shop is the taste and texture of desserts. I would give them benefit of doubt since they said the desserts are hand made, then their recipe needs to urgently improve. We ordered a variety of hot desserts like red bean/sesame/yam paste, and all of them have the glue like texture (not the usual pasty, creamy type) and tasted very diluted with very mild taste of the main ingredients. In the case of yam paste, the taste was totally off, it tasted nothing like yam, nvm the colour was unusual, it tasted like melted gummy candy. The result of the gluey texture could be due to too much starch gets released from overworking/grinding/processing the yam too aggressively resulting in gummy, gluey and unappetising texture. Hope they improve in future.
