It's usually really crowded but it is justifiable. The food stalls here are pretty decent and I can name a few that I usually dine from:
I had the WORST experience with all the staff at the Fitra Chicken Rice stall today. A Malay woman who claimed to be 'in-charge' of the stall acted more like a gangster than a person in charge of a team. Her name was given to me as NUR. Likewise, a Chinese male worker (by the name of Hong, wearing glasses) who chops the chicken up also acted like a gangster when he spoke to me.
Basically, the 4 staff members (including the in charge person) were very disrespectful and rude when they served me. I had ordered a chicken noodle dish to takeaway and asked for extra noodles, chicken and veggies in my servings. I was prepared to pay whatever amount they would have charged me, but the staff started showing me attitude for no reason and this Malay woman in charge came out of the kitchen and spoke very harshly and rudely to me and told her staff to give me the food to me for free! I wasn't begging for food and yet she said it so loudly in the presence of so many customers and people!!
I was very humiliated by her loud accusing voice which eventually infuriated me! I gave them $20 for that simple food (which turned out tasteless) and told her to keep the change. The matter got worse when this lady and the Chinese worker started talking loudly using harsh tones on me! I finally told them off and insisted on getting their names and their manager's contact number. The Malay woman was very obnoxious and arrogant and challenged me to complain against them. I called up the manager who in turn called the landlord of the food court and an Operations Executive came down to speak to me! By then I was so furious with the whole lot of them and told them that I was going to write in an official letter of complaint against the staffs of Fitra Chicken Rice stall! I will never go back to that place again as the quality of the food, the extremely bad service and attitude of the staff and the exorbitant prices they charge for the food is a real put off!
This stall has had too many complaints against them according to a Supervisor working there. I'll warn everyone to be aware of this stall's staff's behavior, especially the in charge person - Ms. Nur! Such a disgrace to the company to have employed gangster-like staffs to serve customers with total disrespect!! Spoilt my Friday which started off...
Read moreThere are 2 food courts in nex. Food Junction is larger but I usually go to Food Republic because the location is more convenient. Both food courts are usually very crowded during peak dining hours. After the renovation, Food Junction is not as squeezy and the seating areas seem to be larger. Another plus is that Food Junction stalls finally have electronically payment terminals that take credit cards (it was just NETS before), but both times I came (right after reopened, and on 8 Nov 2018), the terminals are down?!?! Totally can't take e-payment modes, making it worse than before. 😑 PLEASE FIX!! Aiyo it's 2018 c'mon. LSL would be displeased 🙊. PAssion card holders can get 10% off on weekdays, but note that unlike Food Republic, some stalls will charge an extra few cents for takeaways. Food prices on menu are roughly similar in both food courts.
Edit: The management should step up on training the stall cashiers on electronic payments and FJ promotions. The PAssion Card promo is not uniformly implemented in practice. Some cashiers require that I pay by the PAssion Card (debit card) while some said I must pay by cash to enjoy the discount. The promotional materials on FJ website and at the stalls said to FLASH the PAssion Card during payment to enjoy the discount, not pay by this mode or that. It is no point trying to argue with this kind of cashiers because they'll think they know best, so the management has to step up their game to train the stall cashiers. I did not have any problems with using contactless payment at Food Republic downstairs and all cashiers are highly proficient with their...
