My partner & I had our dinner here on 13 Nov 2024. The service was terrible & we will not return again. (albeit, we felt the food was good)
-According to their website, this place closes at 11.30pm. We arrived at ~ 10.20pm & started ordering. -At 10.45pm, 1 of the staff came to inform us to make payment as they were closing their counter. This was understandable but his tone was dismissive & he looked annoyed. -At 10.55pm, we requested for their refillable corn tea. The staff frowned & looked at his watch before bringing the corn tea to us. -At 11.10pm, staff came & told us they are closing in 5mins. At this point, we were rushing to finish the food & we were the only customers in the restaurant. -At 11.15pm, staff came & told us they are closed. As u can see in the picture attached, the staff have all packed up their bags & were using their phone at the corner.
The way the staff behaved & reacted made us felt very rushed & uncomfortable having our meal in this restaurant. Yes, we do understand that the staff wants to go home after a long day. However, we are not trying to make life difficult for them by purposefully taking our own sweet time to eat. Our point as customer is, didn’t the shop states that it will close at 11.30pm? Why would the staff engage in such passive aggressive actions to get customers to leave before closing time in order for them to go back early.
To be fair, we do feel this place has its merits. -Food portions were huge -Banchans were aplenty & refillable
It’s a pity the service ruins the entire experience. This is a really long review but I wish the restaurant will look into this. As customers, it is a painful experience to be chased to consume food in the restaurant. It is embarrassing when a restaurant cannot even fulfil basic customer...
Read moreWe've arrived at the restaurant at 19.05. Queue until 19.54 only we are able to enter. Through 19.25 there's 3 table available. And it's Ady been "slowly" cleared by the staff, able to be seated. But it's until 19.40 3 groups infront of us are able to enter the restaurant and be seated. In which I don't understand why, the staffs inside just wander around, and doing services take them a century in a very very slow pace too. Just after that 2 group of people leaves and yes same case to us there's table available inside. But they don't let us enter also, just waited another 15 minutes only they seated us. Once seated they do provide us bowl and cups, but after we've ordered our food that takes 10 minutes, waited it for another 5-10 minutes, we asked for them only they bring us the barley tea.
Food is just overrated, I don't understand they are fitting what palates or preferences but the food are mostly sweetttttt. The steam egg in which my friend are excited about were not fluffy and kinda watery too. There's 4 of us but we did order many things to eat, and when there's empty plate that we wanna clear, we've waited quite some time holding the plate while waiting for the server to come and remove it. Until the second time I'm just not bearable of the "awesome" service and bring the plate and drink to the counter for clearing and refill.
Until the end I did order a naengmeon as that's the purpose I wish to come and eat for the day, thank god that noodle is still fine with the cold broth.
The atmosphere is quite noisy, plus there's no exhaust hood in the restaurant so it's quite smoky and oily after we've done our meal. Not recommend for big pax as there's only small space there. And even if you pre-book to the restaurant, you might be disappointed by...
Read moreI visited for takeaway, and while waiting for my food, I wanted to charge my phone as it was severely low on battery. However, I was informed that I couldn’t use their power socket. I was told that a previous customer used the power socket, and the staff member was scolded by the manager for an entire day. I didn’t want to make things difficult for the staff, so I respected the policy.
I understand the need for rules, but I hope the management can exercise some flexibility and understanding in such situations. I would be more than happy to use the paid charging service provided by the restaurant if I were dining in, but since my takeaway order was expected to be ready in under 10 minutes, it didn’t seem necessary to go through the process of downloading an app and setting up payment. By the time I completed the setup, my food would already be ready.
Then again, the restaurant has the right to reject, but I hope they can consider a more compassionate approach, especially in situations like mine.
Food-wise, I don’t have much to comment on since I only ordered two main courses. The glass noodles were a bit oily, as my friend mentioned. The hot plate chicken tasted good but wasn’t particularly special. I can’t be sure if there was MSG, but it felt like there was a lot, as I was very thirsty after eating. I might be wrong, though.
My overall experience here was rather...
