An unassuming cafe serving award-winning specialty grade coffee from the Shan Hills in Myanmar, run by a hardworking couple who spent over 9 years in Myanmar working with smallholder farmers and helping them get better yields and returns on their crop.
We tried the Shan Tofu Fries (something totally new to us) and were blown away by how good it tasted, especially when paired with the homemade tamarind chilli dip.
The Onsen Egg with XO Kaya and Yorkshire Pudding was amazing as well. The onsen egg was cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. The yorkshire pudding and kaya combination left me wanting for more, but I had to leave some space for my main.
I had the delicious Roast Beef Ribeye Croissant for my main. The beef was tender and juicy and topped with an umami sauce, coupled with the crisp-outside-yet-soft-and-buttery-inside croissant, making every bite a delight.
The scrambled eggs with yorkshire pudding was also done beautifully, making it a perfect breakfast or brunch companion.
For coffee, I tried the award-winning Behind The Leaf Honey filter, which had such complexity in its flavour and tasting notes, with hints of peach and cherry. I can only describe it as a ballet for my taste buds. I also tried the Wa Ran Honey Microbes Anaerobic Naturals which was complex with subtle notes of rock melon and mango.
All in all, I think this cafe is a great addition to the local cafe scene, serving excellent specialty grade coffee together with delicious food options.
I am certainly looking forward to come back here...

They obtain their beans from various parts of Myanmar, which makes them even more unique. 🖤 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫 - $8 We got chose the beans from Hti Kham Village, naturals microlot. My partner got this as per usual and thought that there was a good balance of acidity. The notes of mangosteen was prominent and the aroma of rose syrup was there as well, however, the lychee notes didn’t stand out much 🤍 𝗪𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞, 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 - $6 Got the anaerobic natural beans from Hta Ngo Village because I like my white coffees nuttier, and this had notes of nutella, melon and promised a buttery mouth feel. I must say that I didn’t quite taste the melon part but this coffee tasted soooo smooth and nutty 😍 You also get to choose how intense you’d like your white coffee to be – from intense to balanced to milky – which is a great option imo 🍟 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐨𝐟𝐮 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 - $13 Never knew that chickpea tofu existed and I’m so happy with this because I love my chickpeas. Even though it was just fried and topped with shaved parmesan, it was so good?? The tamarind chilli dip went perfectly with the fries as well, but I prefer mine without Another great thing about this place is that there’s no additional GST or service charge, no wonder this place is...
Read moreWanted to share this review. It was around a sunday where I visited the cafe.
Firstly, looks it was really fantastic, it was a nice vibe to the cafe and the place was perfect to what i had expected.
Secondly, bringing up to the coffee where it was myanmar based. I want to say that the coffee was excellent and it was one of the best coffees i've had as a coffee lover. And there was a guy who seemed to be managing all the coffee, he was fast and focused from managing the huge orders and that is very skillful, thumbs up for him!
Thirdly, The food was also excellent, especially the Tofu Fries i tried. The creativity was there and it was something different from what you would see!
The staffs were also very nice and welcomed the customers with pleasent greetings. The staffs would not leave the customers unattended and would treat them as one of the priorities from what i've seen! Especially this young boy who was very enthusiastic to what he was doing. He was very positive towards work, cheers to the team for having positive staffs!
I would reccomend anyone around the area to check out this cafe as it is really worth checking it out. Definitely will...
