The decor of Istanbul Grill is a mix of modern and traditional, with exposed brick walls, colorful Turkish lamps, and mosaic tiles adding to the ambiance. The seating is comfortable, and the restaurant has a cozy and intimate feel, making it the perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a catch-up with friends.
The menu at Istanbul Grill is extensive and features a range of authentic Turkish dishes, including mezze, kebabs, and pide. I started with the mezze platter, which included a variety of dips, such as hummus, baba ganoush, and cacik, served with warm pita bread. The dips were all freshly made and bursting with flavor, with the hummus being a standout for its creamy texture and subtle garlicky flavor.
For my main course, I decided to try the mixed grill platter, which included lamb chops, chicken kebab, and beef tenderloin, all grilled to perfection. The meat was tender and juicy, with a smoky flavor that was enhanced by the marinade. The dish also came with a side of rice pilaf and grilled vegetables, which added a nice touch of freshness to the meal.
One of the highlights of my dining experience at Istanbul Grill was the service. The staff were friendly and attentive, and they made sure that I was comfortable throughout my visit. They were knowledgeable about the menu and were able to recommend dishes based on my preferences. They also took the time to explain the different spices and ingredients used in each dish, which added to my appreciation of the cuisine.
In addition to its delicious food and excellent service, Istanbul Grill also offers a range of Turkish beverages, including traditional tea and coffee. I opted for the Turkish tea, which was served in a traditional glass cup and saucer. The tea was fragrant and had a slightly sweet taste, which complemented the savory flavors of the food perfectly.
The location of Istanbul Grill is also worth noting. Situated just a short walk from the Sultan Mosque, the restaurant offers a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the area. The restaurant has outdoor seating, which allows diners to take in the sights and sounds of the neighborhood while...
Read moreI wonder how this place still operates. So many negative reviews. Lousy customer service. Came on a Saturday evening and decided to try the food there since the ambience looked great. Ordered the Mandi Rice and waited for about 45 minutes before it came. There wasn’t a lot of people during that time, mind you. The rice was so dry and it literally felt like eating uncooked rice. Requested for them to change but the waiter was so blur before my friend said “aren’t you going to do something about it?” and then he finally took the plate. Not sure if he couldn’t understand what we were saying? Came back with cooked rice but the portion was much smaller than before. The chicken was nice but it was cold. We ordered kebab and it was cold too. We ordered Kunafe and it took a while for it to arrive. 30 minutes in, we asked the same waiter and he said it was coming. 45 minutes in, we asked again and then he said “I don’t think we are able to do it because we are so busy right now”. My friends and I were already furious as he could have told us that way earlier instead of saying that it was already coming. Wasted so much of our precious time waiting for something that wasn’t even being made. We decided to cancel the order but one of the staff got so aggressive that he basically forced us to sit back and wait for the dessert since “we have already ordered and so we have to wait”. Informed him that we waited too long for it. What kind of customer service is this? We weren’t the only customers experiencing bad service at that point of time. Noticed few customers waited too long to get their utensils, got their orders wrong or waited too long for their food. Avoid this place...

Nestled in the charming Kampong Glam neighborhood, Istanbull Grill and Cafe at 25 Baghdad Street delivers an authentic Turkish dining experience that’s both flavorful and welcoming. From the moment you arrive, the aroma of grilled meats and spices draws you in. The ambiance blends traditional Turkish decor with a cozy, casual vibe—perfect for both quick lunches and relaxed dinners.
We started with a mix grill that is goof for 2 which came with delicious beef and chicken shish, lamb and chicken adana, chicken wing, pilav ice, french fries and veggie spicies. The standout dish, however for me was the Adana Kebab—tender mincee grilled chicken with smoky flavor. Every bite was comforting and full of flavor. I'm also impressed with its juicy texture and hint of spice.
For dessert, the kunefe was a delightful treat—crispy, cheesy, and soaked in just the right amount of syrup. Pair it with a strong Turkish tea or coffee for the full experience.
Service was friendly and attentive, and the staff were more than happy to explain the menu for those unfamiliar with Turkish cuisine. They even suggested the food that we ordered.
