And so I had a fetish for fresh raw seafood this afternoon and remembered this dining restaurant at Sembawang Shopping Centre level 1. The scallop don was especially tempting.
After like 5mins, my miso soup and garden salad came.
The miso soup had ample seaweed and brewed soft radish. Excellent and warming to my stomach, preparing it for the live seafood I guess.
The salad was equally delicious, raised my eyebrows thinking which master chef prepared this. The gravy on the salad was the killer. You must try this all the chi Huo (gluttons) out there.
Next came the main dish ; my scallops don. I must admit I always have a bit of trepidation with raw seafood to be honest. But one bite of the scallop with the yuzu soy sauce dispelled all my fears. The next bite sent me to the gates of heavens lol.
And finally with the recommended chawanmushi; there was a little surprised inside. I was wondering why the chawanmushi tasted somewhat sweeter than usual, and ahoy! What a surprise inside! I am keeping this secret surprise for u to try! Yes , I actually ordered another chawanmushi; fat die me.
And to cap it off, the waitress at the cashier was really friendly and endearing, 110% service really…
Thanks a lot for your nice food on my leave day, I think I can go back to work after with more...

Came at around 11am on a Sunday afternoon. Server was warm and friendly. Free serving of hard-boiled eggs.
Ordered $35++ value set and had the Kei Signature Kaisendon, which came with 2 miso soup (with good portion of ingredients), salad, 4 pcs of gyoza, and 2 iced genmai tea. Also ordered their mentayaki tamago udon set.
Good balance of taste and texture with fresh and quality ingredients with every mouthful for the kaisendon. Quite filling portion, despite looking slightly small in the bowl. The kids like the udon and the tamago.
Overall bill was around $55....

The grilled mentai prawns were to die for but take note that it is still raw. The large kei signature bowl had large chunky sashmi (tuna maguro prawn scallop octopus and swordfish?) which was very satisfying. The genmai tea is refillable. The miso clam soup was very rich and good. Service was good and prompt. The salad was just normal with sesame sauce, wished maybe they can up it to a potato salad/edamame or seaweed. Will want to...
