Clean place but no air conditioning. The traditional claymore rice is good and the serving is sufficient. The salted fish bits they added in help to enhance the taste of the dish. One of the nice touch they have here is that they do not add in the dark soya sauce; you get to do it yourself to get the taste to your own liking. The rice made crispy by the hot claymore is very enjoyable, especially by young ones. The serving time is slow but the wait staff did inform of this when you order. The wait staff is also attentive, they look out for your needs and are proactive in their service, anticipating your requests through observation. The sambal kang kong is a bit overcooked though but the stuffed you tiao is nicely done, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside.

Dined there at a quarter past 9 on a week day. Managed to find parking after circling the neighborhood twice. Restaurant was quiet; only four tables occupied. Was told that our claypot rice would take around 25 minutes to prepare. Lucky for us, it arrived earlier. Ordered medium size claypot rice. To be honest, at $13.80, it does feel a bit pricey. Fortunately, it tastes okay. Ordered a small plate of their San Lou Bee Hoon. It was a first for me and my father liked it. Yes. It's dry. But that's how it should be. Customer service is what you'd normally get from a well-mannered Foreign talent from the middle Kingdom. In conclusion, tastes okay. But if you factor in the price, I reckon it's a wee bit pricey. Parking and seating will most definitely be an issue during peak periods. Will come back again just to let my mother try the food here.

Paid $9.60 for small chicken claypot rice. Summary Rice : average Chicken : average Lup cheong : good Vege : good TL'DR Rice has it's high and low. Honestly I don't like it that I have to add dark sauce myself to make it black and sweet. So they are kinda plain for area that were not added. I do like that salted fish that is not no one lump but more mellowly spreaded. Their hard rice was also very easy to come off which is a plus for fans. But sadly alot are just white rice as dark sauce is difficult to be stirred in. Pretty tender but taste isn't really there. Also not a lot for $9.60. lup cheong was average, 1 type only. Thinly sliced. But average lup cheong is consider good. I like the vege. They are fresh hence ended up being pretty juicy. The chicken rice chili is reasonable and add much appreciated taste to the chicken.

Visited for a family lunch on weekend! Here’s what we had: 🥢 Sambal kangkong- Fragrant but too spicy! 🥢 Claypot rice - Size was bigger than expected! Taste was not bad, definitely had the claypot aroma. Meat was tender too. They provide dark sauce on the side so you can add it yourself, to your own liking. Would return to eat this! 🥢 San Lao Beehoon - A nice dish! Flavorful and had that wokhey aroma. 🥢 Curry fish head - This dish was really average for me. A lot of vege inside but not so much fish. Not a fan of this kind of curry, more milk (coconut milk?) flavor than curry spice fragrance. Didn’t find that this went well with rice, will get gelat after a few mouths. Overall, still a not bad family restaurant. Wouldn’t reorder the curry but other dishes are not bad. Price is decent too.

Wonder what the hoo ha is about? It was terribly disappointing. Tasted better claypot dishes. Something was missing perhaps like the wok-hei? Chicken were more bones than meat. Update Feb 2024 - thought perhaps some improvements but Signature Claypot chicken nothing to rave about, worst is their chili kang kong soaking in chilli oil, not nice and worst, a lot of MSG. Sigh…. Their ex-branch at Parkway parade was had nicer Claypot and the garlic chicken! Their salted egg ribs were terribly salty. Bee hoon lala was ok, pepper spicy. The dark noodles - we asked if it was yellow noodles and not Soba, they confirmed it’s not soba but when it came out, it looked and tasted like soba noodles. Overall- no big deal. waste of time and $$.and plenty of unnecessary carbs 😆😆😆🤣

Went for lunch on a weekday, despite not having a crowd, food took 30mins to be prepared. Staff did warn that it'll take at least 20mins for food to be ready. Food was nice, but nothing special as compared to other seafood shops. But should visit to try at least once. Claypot chicken rice : Portions of chicken, chinese sausage and salted fish were sufficient. Could have had more vegetables. Taste is nice. San Lao bee hoon : charred bee hoon is tasty, with hidden portions of sliced pork, egg, and 2 prawns. Prawns were overcooked and sticking to the shell. Overall, dish is tasty. Fish cake you tiao : good. Not typically paired with the dishes we ordered, but just wanted to try. Somehow enjoyed it more than the other main dishes.
