Koufu — Restaurant in Singapore

This is my first time to decide to write such a long review. Today I bought set B (Bee Hoon Soup + Rou Jia Mo) at the Chinese Food shop (2nd shop on your right hand once you entered), total costs S$9.8 for taking away. Undoubtedly, the food is always delicious but the service was very poor today and I can see many people was unsatisfied with today's service as there were many mistakes. I told the cashier lady that I would like sauerkraut soup base for my bee hoon, she did remind the guy in the kitchen and he prepared as per requested. However, they activated my buzzer when the Rou Jia Mo hadn't been prepared. It is still ok, I just waited there and saw their menu again. I noted that Rou Jia Mo is S$4 and the plain bee hoon soup is S$4.5, so it only costs S$8.8 which is S$1 cheaper than order the set! There are add-ons for the bee hoon soup but I was not asked when I made the order! So I asked the cashier whether my one was plain bee hoon and I told her the price difference, she checked with the guy inside the kitchen, it's plain bee hoon as expected! She asked me whether wanna pork rib or beef, I chose pork rib and she brought the food to the guy again. From the small kitchen window, I saw something. I saw the guy opened the cover, and put his head on the top of the bowl, very near, I had NO EVIDENCE but I strongly SUSPECTED he SPITTED in the soup. I kept observing, he got mask but never cover his mouth. I CAN'T think ANY reasons he needs to put his head so near to the bowl and I only saw this for my food. I wish I think too much, but please be careful when you come here. The cashier lady is generous, she would like to give me a free bowl of peanuts for long waiting...

A Gem for Putian Cuisine at Koufu Woodlands! I recently had the pleasure of trying the Putian cuisine offerings at Koufu in Woodlands, and I have to say, it was a genuinely delightful experience! If you're looking for a satisfying meal that's both delicious and easy on the wallet, this is definitely a spot to check out.

My absolute favorite discovery was their Asam Fish. In today's economy, finding a good fish dish that doesn't break the bank feels like a true win, and their Asam Fish certainly delivered on affordability. More importantly, the taste was fantastic – perfectly cooked fish with that lovely, tangy Asam kick. It's a dish I'd happily go back for again and again.

I also couldn't resist trying their Bee Hoon, and I'm so glad I did! It had a wonderfully unique taste that really stood out from other bee hoon dishes I've tried. [Optional addition if you recall: Perhaps it was the broth, or a special blend of ingredients, but it left a memorable impression.] Plus, the portion was incredibly generous, definitely enough to leave you feeling fully satisfied. It’s comforting, flavourful, and something truly special.

Beyond those stars, I was also impressed by the variety of food available. Koufu generally offers a wide selection, but it’s great to see that translated well into their Putian section, ensuring there’s something for different palates.

All in all, Koufu's Putian cuisine stall offers a fantastic combination of great taste, generous portions, and affordability. It’s a definite recommendation from me for anyone in the Woodlands NorthWest area looking for a...

Dear Koufu Management,

I’m writing to express my disappointment with the current state of the food stalls at your Woodlands Mart outlet. Over the years, I’ve noticed a significant decline in both the variety and quality of food available. The frequent changes in tenants have also affected consistency, and unfortunately, many of the newer stalls do not meet the same standards that we enjoyed 10 years ago.

Koufu used to be known for offering delicious and satisfying meals, but recently the food has become far less appealing. I sincerely hope Koufu can be more selective in choosing quality tenants who are committed to serving good food.

Please consider putting more effort into screening potential stall operators to ensure they can maintain a high standard. It would be wonderful to see Koufu return to the level of excellence that regular customers once...
