Had a small family dinner at Maguro Brothers located on Level 3 of 100AM. Maguro Brothers is part of the group of restaurants with Kuro Maguro over at Guoco Tower and Maguro Donya at Suntec City. As a Gold member on J-Passport for the above 3 restaurants, we managed to enjoy 30% off on today's meal. Started the meal with an Omakase of 10 different Sashimi cuts. The Sashimi were fresh and yummy, with the Chutoro and Otoro melt in your mouth heavenly. 3 more appetisers were ordered with Grilled Monkfish, Grilled Lotus Chips and Agedashi Tofu. All 3 were yummy, tasty & had wonderful texture. Redeemed 2 pieces of Anago Nigiri with my J-Passport points, which was tender and had a lighter flavour from the usual Unagi Kabayaki. We ordered 4 pieces of Megumi Gunkan, which consists of Negitoro with Uni and Ikura. The flavour mix was so well balanced & tasty that it had most of us craving for more. Hence, 4 of us ordered the Toro Uni Don set which had generous serving of Otoro with Uni & Ikura Don. That main was so good. An order of Sumire Sushi Don, as the flavour of Uni is not for all, & the set had some really well made Sushi which had a wonderful balance of taste. The meal tonight was wonderful and satisfying. A pity we did not know of their Grilled Hon Maguro Head before hand as being able to enjoy the huge half head of the Tuna fish appealed to us & definitely made us all want to return again for it General Verdict: This new branch of the Maguro group is definitely a great addition to the family & worth a visit again very soon. Quality here is almost on par with the fish markets of Japan Opening Hours: Tuesday-Friday 11:30am-2pm and 5:30pm-10pm Weekend 11:30am-2pm and 5:30pm-9pm Closed on Mondays Queue Situation: Generally able to take walk-ins but do make reservations for groups of 3 or more Price: SG$60++ upwards per person Payment Mode: Cash and all Major Credit Cards (Physical and Paywave) Items ordered: 1) Omakase 10 Cuts Sashimi - Maguro (Akami - Lean Tuna) - Chutoro (Medium Fatty Tuna) - Otoro (Fatty Tuna) - Hirame (Flatfish) - Hirasuzuki (Seabass) - Hiramasa (Amberjack) - Samekarei (Roughscale Sole) - Soi (Rockfish) - Tai (Seabream) - Hammachi (Yellowtail) Description: These 10 cuts of Sashimi were fresh, tasty and truly enjoyable. Only the good stuff here. Verdict: Very Good, Must Order Price: SG$99++ 2) Ankimo Ponzu - Monkfish in Citrus Soy Sauce Description: Smooth & creamy texture that melts in the mouth in a yummy swirl. May be an acquired taste for some Verdict: Good, Can Order Price: SG$15.80++ 3) Renkon Chips - Deep-fried thinly sliced Lotus Roots Description: A nice tasty & crunchy snack that had a nice flavour & was not oily Verdict: Very Good, Must Order Price: SG$6.80++ 4) Agedashi Tofu - Deep-fried Tofu in Japanese Soup Stock with Grated Radish Description: Light crunch around a soft tofu in a delicious savoury broth Verdict: Good, Can Order Price: SG$7.80++ 5) Anago Nigiri - Grilled Sea Eel served Sushi style Description: A light tasting eel that is enhanced by the sauce & pairs well with the Japanese Rice Verdict: Good, Can Order Price: SG$9.80++ (Per piece) (Free when redeemed with 10 J-Passport Points) 6) Megumi Gunkan - Battleship Sushi overflowing with Sea Urchin (Uni), Salmon Roe (Ikura), and Freshly Scrapped Maguro (Negitoro) Description: A delicate & flavour explosion that only works with ingredients as fresh as this Verdict: Very Good, Must Order Price: SG$24.80++ 7) Toro Uni Don Set - Premium Maguro, Sea Urchin and Ikura Rice Set served with Chawanmushi, Tori Karaage, Miso Soup & Fruit Description: A refreshing & wonderful flavour mix of fresh ingredients that is yummy with every bite Verdict: Very Good, Must Order Price: SG$39.90++ 8) Sumire Sushi Set - Yellowfin Tuna (Kihada), Medium-Fatty Tuna (Chutoro), Sea Bream (Tai), Hamachi (Yellowtail), Salmon (Sake), Sweet Prawn (Amaebi), Sea Eel (Anago) - Served with Chawanmushi, Tori Karaage, Miso Soup & Fruit Description: A well-balanced Sushi Set that has good layering of flavours Verdict: Good, Can Order Price: SG$26.80++

(Media Tasting) Fans of Maguro, you should bookmark this casual eatery at 100AM mall for your next tuna fix. Although at one glance, their menu seems to include everything from regular sushi to donburi, some fried items and sides, what really defines them are the rare parts of the Bluefin Tuna, all affordably priced. Delicacies include Toro Head, Cheek, Ribs and Dorsal sashimi. The whole grilled tuna head ($188++) requires advance order of one week as quantity is extremely limited. Majestic in size, it is easily shared amongst four pax - just add bowls of rice, miso soup and if you like, chawanmushi. I like that freshly sliced chilli padi (such a pleasant surprise), wasabi, ponzu and grated daikon are its accompaniments. Head Chef @masaki_maguro had helped us to dissect the Maguro head that day but please note the presentation and explanation is usually done at the diners’ table, after which they can freely help themselves to it. Other more conventional cuts to indulge in, which I reckon are no less impressive considering the wallet-friendly prices, are Otoro (fatty tuna belly), Akami (meaty red tuna) and Chutoro (back and stomach of the fish). Very pleased to see that they do Donburi Set Menus showcasing different cuts of tuna too ($29.80 to $49.80++). Designed to make everyone go “wow!” is the Megumi Gunkan - touted as the ultimate "battleship" sushi overflowing with scraped Maguro toro, Uni (sea urchin) and Ikura. I can’t help but think of it as a luxurious sushi ice-cream sundae. An atypical dessert to end your meal with perhaps? 😄

28 Feb 2025: always wanted to give maguro brothers a try and tonight was the night! we got the sanshoku don set which consists on 8 pieces of o-toro, chutoro & akami, loved the o-toro and chutoro, fatty tunas 🍣🐟. we also ordered the negitoro don set which was good too (mix it well together with quarter to half a spoonful of soya sauce with all the wasabi they give you & maybe more). both sets came with chawanmushi, miso soup & chicken karaage (which was fried perfectly I must say- light and crispy). We also ordered fried octopus and squeezed lots of lemon for an extra punch, it was a nice extra snack. Although we did not enjoy the yuzu gin and tonic (personally felt like it was too sweet), their high balls were damn shiok. What a satisfying meal 🤰 29 March 2025: Back with my family! I ordered the o-toro don set since I knew from the last round that I enjoyed their fatty tuna. It was great :D My sister ordered the Tekka don set, which had leaner tuna. I don’t like leaner tuna so I didn’t enjoy it as much but my sister liked it. We also got the fried oysters which were REALLY good, a little raw and perfectly crisp 🦪 and finally we got the aburi sushi set, I only ate their scallop sushi and it was great.

Viral Sushi Pizza! This innovative dish is the first of its kind in Singapore and is the perfect blend of sushi and pizza in one unforgettable bite. Imagine sushi, but in the shape of a pizza—each slice loaded with the usual sushi ingredients but served with a crispy twist. If you’ve been scrolling through TikTok, you’ve probably seen this unique creation make its rounds.

The Sushi Pizza comes in five incredible flavours that are sure to hit all the right spots. Whether you're a fan of fresh sashimi or something with a little more kick, there's a flavour for every taste:

Magurorita Pizza – AKA the bluefin tuna pizza. A must-try! The fresh Maguro slices pair perfectly with mozzarella cheese & wasabi mayo. Trust me, one slice isn’t enough—it's so good you’ll be back for more.

Salmon Terimayo Pizza – A delightful fusion of Aburi salmon and teriyaki mayonnaise. The sweet and savory sauce perfectly complements the smokey salmon, making every bite a little taste of heaven.

Chirashi Pizza – This one’s a dream for sashimi lovers! It features a selection of fresh tuna and salmon sashimi, with the addition of crunchy edamame. Pro tip: dip it into some shoyu for an extra burst of flavor!

Grilled Chicken Pizza – For those who prefer a non-seafood option, this pizza features tender grilled chicken that complements the seaweed and other fresh toppings.

Spicy Salmon Pizza – If you love a little heat, this spicy salmon pizza will definitely hit the spot.

What truly sets this Sushi Pizza apart is the deep-fried seaweed tempura base. It adds a satisfying crunch that contrasts beautifully with the soft delicate toppings, making each bite an...

An atypical dessert to end your meal...
