Came by after 6pm for their happy hour. $6 is very reasonable for a drink in singapore! Highly recommend their yuzu highball!
Mazosoba is delicious as usual. Love its bouncy texture. Flavors are full bodied. I got the small portion and it was just nice for my smaller appetite.
Izakaya snacks are wonderful too, my favourites are the gyoza (so juicy!) and the fried chicken skin (goes so well with my drinks).
Yakitori set is worth a try if they have a promotion! the first time i ordered it, it was grilled to perfection - slightly crispy on the outside with the chargrill flavour. The second time it is a bit soggy (for lack of better words). Probably a hit or miss thing.
The okonomiyaki was a miss. The cabbage wasn’t thinly sliced enough and the batter feels undercooked, I can taste the flour flavour which isn’t what I expected.
With that said I still go back with friends to enjoy my yuzu highball and fried chicken skin. The manager was really kind too! When i asked if they have the ume soda (had this in japan), he made one...
Read moreOne of my favorite places and I regularly would bring my friends and co-workers here but tonight is probably the last time. We just had a horror visit earlier this evening. Menya Kokoro is currently running a 50% off second menu item if you order the first item from the new curry menu.
when we were checking out, after paying, they said the promo didn’t qualify because bento boxes were not included in the promo. so they made me pay an initial lower amount, then void that payment and grabbed my credit card and charged me a higher amount a second time insisting that the promo has that exception.
my friend and me explained that the waitress told us otherwise when we ordered. the cashier lady insisted that the waitress is a new hire so she is misinformed about their restaurant promo. what a horrible experience!! they definitely should train their employees better, both food servers and cashiers. besides, it’s really absolutely ridiculous to make your customers pay for...
Read moreThe problem with many of such highly-rated establishments is that they pay customers to give such reviews. In this case, this restaurant encourages diners to scan a code to leave a review, they check it before giving diners $1 off. Who doesn't want a discount, big or small? So what you end up with are a bunch of falsified reviews raving about the noodles, mostly from individuals who have never left reviews or few, and lots of "New" reviews every other day. Based on my experience, food here was extremely mediocre. Check out the reviews written in Japanese and you'll have a real sense of standards here. 2* for the food and another * for the good service. The dip was bland, noodles tasted like they had been left overnight/left out for a while - there's a difference between al dente, undercooked, and just not the freshest. The other Ingredients were fine otherwise but...
