"Dad, shall we go to a Japanese Restaurant today?" my daughter asked. "No." I replied. I've made a booking at an Indian restaurant. My daughter pouted. "I'm not hungry." she said. It's not that my daughter does not like Indian food. It is because she went with her friends to an Indian restaurant the night before, and was looking forward to some Japanese food. Anyway, we made our way to Peacock North Indian Cuisine at NEWest Mall. "I'm still not hungry" my daughter reminded when my wife and I were ordering from the menu. Ignoring her, we ordered Palak Paneer, Mutton Rogan Josh, Murgh Hariyali Tikka, Garlic Naan and Paneer Kulcha. I didn't take too long for the food to arrive. We were so engrossed with eating that I forgot to take pictures for this review. By the time I remembered, we had already eaten 4 out of 5 pieces of the Murgh Hariyali Tikka. Thankfully, there was still one piece left, so at least you know what it looks like. The verdict? From the time our meal started, my daughter, who self-proclaimed that she wasn't hungry, started attacking the food with gusto. She even fought with me over the last piece of Murgh Hariyali Tikka after I took the photo. In the photos, you'll see two empty bowls - the contents were scraped clean by my daughter. If you had browsed my photos, you might be wondering why I took one with a glass of water. Unlike other restaurants who will either refuse to serve plain water, or charge you for it, this restaurant cheerfully served plain water right at the start without us asking for it. Bravo! Wife, daughter and I were very happy with our meal. Update: We visited the restaurant again, this time ordering Goan Fish Curry, Mutton Korma and Sarson Ka Saag. All were good. I've posted photos of these dishes, as well as the aftermath.

Die Die Must Try! Jewel of West Coast ! I visited the restaurant with a group of over 10 of my friends. The ambience both inside and the seating outside is absolutely well thought of and very clean and tidy and perfect place for family and friends in groups for chillaxing. This place is perfect for stag nights and spinster parties or any occasion that you can think of since it has a lot of space. The prices are very very reasonable and the food is lip smacking delicious. Especially the sizzling kebabs (as you can see in the video both red and yellow - 2 different types) and also the unique types of roti. This place deserves five stars especially to the staff ( look for Mr. Jeet Singh the owner ). The food was very authentic and delicious and hot from the Oven. Mr.Jeet and his team of super heroes in customer service namely - Mr.Feroz khan / Mr.Insar Ali ( Head chefs) and Ms.Gurbir (waitress) service was awesome and his team provided excellent service and prompt attention to our dining needs impressed me a lot. They really seem to treasure their customers very much. I have already planned another visit for my colleague's stag night as he is getting married soon. There are high seats outisde which is perfect and quite cool for chillaxing on a friday evening in the late evenings. This place is a must visit and as the saying goes..." Die Die must Try and you will never regret ". Please give it to shot and trust me you wont regret and also help to spread the word to more of your family and friends for the simple reason that Good places with good food and good service always deserves a pat on the back! Thanks Mr. Jeet and team for the 7 star service !

Egg Bhurji / Egg Poriyal (SGD $10.90) @ Peacock Restaurant. . Opening in September 2021, this restaurant may be out-of-the-way, but it also goes out-of-its-way in service and food quality. A reliable hidden find. . Generously portioned, their rendition is resplendent with spices, fluffy egg, tender red onions, and juicy tomatoes. . Bold with eggy savoury salty sweet spice vegetal flavours, this pairs well with drinks, rice, or bread. . . . Fish Kadai (SGD $19.90) @ Peacock Restaurant. . Delightfully thick chunky gravy, with tender red onions and crunchy bell peppers / capsicum, nice vegetal sweet spice salty savoury flavour. . The taste of tomato is muted, but the blend of spices is pleasant with little fiery heat. . The battered boneless fillets of king fish are soft and moist, with mild sweet savoury salty flavour. Their rendition pairs well with rice, but not bread. . . . Gajar Ka Halwa (SGD $6.90) @ Peacock Restaurant. . Love their version which has grated carrots blended with condensed milk, served in a generous portion, garnished with crushed pistachios. . Has a sticky chunky juicy texture, with bright vegetal milky sweet nutty spice flavour.

Waited 45mins for main dishes to be out gradually, cant really blame them as there was a table of 15 that came right before us. However waited till quite hungry, the first few dishes was quite lukewarm which i cant understand why too if its all serve straight after cook, unless it has been left on the counter for quite awhile... The briyani even though in claypot style which should be generally hot or at least warm was also lukewarm. Ordered 10 dishes, only the last 4 dishes was hot(temperature) and last few dishes was alot nicer than the first half of the dishes. Place was abit warm, would be better if the entrance door was closed to keep the aircon in with also the fairly full house at that time. 5 stars for their staff and owner attitude as they were friendly and bothered to explain on the different dishes, they also guide us how to eat the pani puri as it was also the first time my parents eat this dish. Overall i guess their food will be alot nicer at off peak hours with lesser orders however the staff attitude can supercede the long waiting time, would have left the place if not because of the staff and owner friendly gestures.

I recently ordered food from Peacock North Indian Restaurant for my sister’s birthday celebration and had an excellent experience from start to finish. I spoke with Mr. Kuljeet regarding the home delivery for 12 guests, and he was incredibly helpful in estimating and planning the entire order for us. The delivery was timely and very well-organized. Every detail was meticulously handled, ensuring that the food arrived hot and fresh. Now, let's talk about the food. The Butter Chicken was simply outstanding – rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. It was a hit with everyone at the party. The Fish Curry, however, was the star of the show. It was unique and flavorful, with perfectly cooked fish in a delightful curry sauce that left us all wanting for more. Overall, the food was awesome, with every dish reflecting the quality and authenticity of North Indian cuisine. The attention to detail and the exceptional service provided by Mr. Kuljeet and the team at Peacock made the birthday celebration truly special. I highly recommend Peacock North Indian Restaurant for any occasion. They have certainly earned my repeat business!

Hands down, this is the best place I know for North Indian cuisine. It is evident from the pictures I have taken over the last few months. And no, I did not order all these in one night. The food absolutely hits the spot. From the sizzling chicken tikka (pssst) to the crispy battered ladies finger (kurkri bindhi) to the kulfi, you will be spoilt for choices. As much as the food is enticing, what will draw you back is something that you can't get on the menu - Mr Jeet and Mr Nik. Let's not even talk about service. These 2 genuine folks make you feel like you are completely at home. I am so grateful to them for their exceptional hospitality and love. Yes, love. If you love authentic Indian food like I do, please do yourself a favour and come down here. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Drinks are affordable... come on, 3 pints for $27, bottle of Glenfiddich for $110 (++ of course). Take my money, Peacock!!! 💖
