Overall experience - happy customers! There are 2 things that we really wish they ‘should’ offer that we could’ve given them 5 stars would be - temperature of the food to be served and poor flavour of the pasta 🙁
So we’ve ordered Calabrese and Spicy Lemon Chicken Linguine - which actually not spicy at all. We’re surprised coz the waitress warned us that both of what we’ve ordered would be spicy. So we said yeah sure, but then it was mild spiciness level which I think most people who don’t take spicy food can tolerate the mildness of it. Anyway
Menu - great variety of pizza and they also have salad and pasta which usually great combination for pizza. They also offer desserts and some wine.
Serving Time - pretty decent, we waited like max 15minutes for both. Pizza was served a bit later.
Food Quality and Portion - portion wise great for sharing if you’re like me who eats mindfully and share it. Which in this case, I’ve ordered pasta and his’ pizza. Both great portion average good for 1 person but Pizza can be shared. Quality, taste wise - Super! We both like the pizza so much, the salami in it and the green Chili overpower the overall taste but it was great combination. And because the cheese tasted very subtle, you don’t really feel the saltiness of salami. And the pasta was great partner with this pizza why coz honestly - the pasta doesn’t have that much flavour I would say only coming from the herbs/spices they put but don’t get me wrong, pasta was okay for me. Here comes the disappointment - the food wasn’t hot at all 😔. It’s like been on the table for more than 5-10mins no joke.
Price wise - hmm, I would say normal price for this type of restaurant. I’ve included the price here for your...
Read moreMy family & I were utterly repulsed by the appalling lack of hospitality at this restaurant. We are a family of 3 - a heavily pregnant wife and a young child of 7. We arrived close to 5 when there were no dine in customers. At the entrance, a sully looking host greeted us with a grim and hostile, "Just to let you know, we'd be sitting you at different tables very far away inside. You'd be very far away so no way you can mingle and pass food. We have to do this because customers don't comply and keep mingling so we must do this. We can pass the pizza across your tables to share but you cannot pass yourself as you'd be seated very far away". We have never encountered being conveyed the safe distancing measures by any dine in establishment in a more unwelcoming and policing tone before. We left without entering. We understand the challenges eateries face and the regulations they have to implement but we've encountered far more thoughtful, respectful, empathetic and warm hospitality. Is PizzaExpress expecting our young family of our makeup to create issues in an empty restaurant - laughing loudly and mingling to cause transmission between our family? I suppose they expect us. to use the mobile to call each other across the tables. I expect a lot more from an establishment which seemed popular. It is our first time and it'd be our last. In an environment where dining establishment are struggling to retain customers, this is one example of what not to do. Please consider training your...

We decided to give Pizza Express a shot again after two 3-star visits in 2023. To avoid disappointment, we have learnt our lesson not to order the Calabrese Pizza even though two of us in our party used to love it to bits.
This time we ordered a Granchio con Panna, Seafood Romana Pizza, Mixed Salad, Kids La Reine Pizza and Kids Spaghetti Bolognese. The crab pasta was great! The pizza was most definitely more substantial than the Calabrese and big enough for all of us to share.
As usual the kids loved the dough balls, which is the main reason why we come here.
There is currently a kids eat free promo now which is much more value for money than before!
The team was eager to please today, where they were quick to clear dishes, refill water and replace our plates.

Pizza Express used to be good. We used to come quite often, to their various outlets.
However, today, the amount of meat in the Calabrese was sooo little. We asked the waiter and he pointed at one of the pieces at the corner of the pizza.
When the prawn aglio olio pasta was delivered to our table, my 6 year old commented that the portion was so small.
While the Dough Balls are still good, the general standard in this Pizza Express has dropped – food and service.
Looks like we won’t be coming back...
