If you’re looking for an authentic peranakan buffet experience, this is the place to go! Can I just preface by saying the service was impeccable and I loved the ambience but I’m giving this place 4 stars because although most of the dishes were really good, some fell short of expectations…which shouldn’t be the case as they literally only serve one type of cuisine. Anyway here’s what we liked:
Char kway teow with extra egg: super wok hei and nostalgic, loved it! We got 2 plates. Nasi lemak in banana leaf: came in an adorable bite-sized pyramid. It’s just rice and spicy ikan bilis & peanuts but it packs so much flavor!! Nice to eat with the other sides like the sambal sotong Sambal sotong: the sambal sauce was on point, also loved the petai beans Broccoli and mushrooms: ordinary sounding but was some much needed fibre. Deep fried lor bak with sweet sauce (live station): thing ngoh hiang except with the addition of a roll of lor bak on the inside!! Very unique I ate the whole roll. Chee cheong fan: old school authentic taste. The chewy and stretchy rice rolls topped with sweet sauce rly hit the right spot. Ban Chang kueh: we liked the durian rendition! It was really thin and crisp so didn’t feel to heavy after all the mains. Bean curd: smooth. Just a tad too much brown sugar syrup.
Dishes that could do with a bit more work: Popiah & kueh pie tee: for some reason the turnip filling was a bit watery, couldve been more savory. Fish otah: liked the lemongrass taste but also a bit watery, texture was not firm Belachan chicken wings: essentially har cheong gai. A bit on the dry side. Pig’s trotter: liked the vinegary sauce however the meat was a bit too tough Kong bak Pao: strangely enough, I think the pao would’ve gone better with the braised pig trotter sauce. The layer of pork belly was a bit too fatty and had cartilage. Satay: a bit tough.
All in all, we enjoyed ourselves and had a very pleasant experience thanks to Ria and her colleagues who were very diligent in coming around to...

🟠 My husband and I had booked 2 seats at 8pm on 5th Feb 2025 Wed (▪︎ CNY 8th day) at Princess Terrace restaurant. We were there for some small savoury bites, and didn't partake in the buffet dinner.
● Decor: The restaurant is elegant and refined looking, with a touch of classic luxury. ✳️ The buffet station walls are adorned with small mosaic tiles, and the entire place is draped in medium warm-wood panels, black marble table tops, and the flooring has these inlaid jade-gold coloured tiles.
❇️ Coupled with soft subtle lighting & warm tones, comfortable seating with plush chairs, all these lends a luxurious feel to the restaurant.
🟤 The ambience is warm and inviting, with a sense of nostalgia and old-world charm. The setting is intimate and cozy, with a relaxed fine-dining atmosphere.
🟨 Service = The staff were generally alright, but I felt they could be a little more amiable and attentive. ✔️ The only staff we encountered who was polite and friendly was a lady dressed in a green sulam kebaya top. I didn't get her name but when she took our ala carte orders, she was smiley and affable.
🔵 The food = 🔵 we ordered 🟤 Kueh Pie Tee at SGD12 ( 6 pieces) + 🟤 Popiah ( 3 rolls) at SGD12 + 🟤 Cafe Latte at SGD7 + 🟤 Satay 12 sticks at SGD14 for takeaway.
🟨 The food was awesome! The Popiah and Kueh Pie Tee were super scrumptious and we finished both dishes quickly. The chicken satay was delicious too. 🩷 I must say I am deeply impressed with the food here.
🟧 My hubby and I are thinking of going back to Princess Terrace again for the main buffet. I had taken a quick look at the buffet stations today and find the food to be of top notch quality and all dishes looks authentically cooked.
🟩 I hope to be back...
Read moreWent there for the first time on a Friday night for dinner. The food was quite good and comforting. All was quite delicious except for some misses. The lobster prawn mee was supposedly the highlight but the meat was not as fresh and tasteless. Soup was still decent. Also, the fried chicken wings were not crispy, probably being left out for a while.
Service wise, honestly most of the service staff clearing tables were good especially a nice older Indian lady with spectacles. The chefs were friendly and served with a smile even though they were wearing masks. The worst service we encountered was from the Indian girl at the cashier. She was the first person we had to interact with the moment we entered the restaurant. There was no welcome, no smile, she even forgot to give us the token required to exchange for the HIGHLIGHT dish and was not at all apologetic for it. Her response was, "oh ya" then took the tokens and passed to me with zero response before continuing with her admin work. We thought we didn't have to interact with her again but towards the end of our dinner, she just walked towards us with the bill (which we did NOT ask for) and the restaurant was not closing yet, and simply set the bill on the table and told us "Bill" before standing at the side to wait. Again, no smiles. Even a janitor in a shopping mall has better social skills and manners than this lady. I saw her name tag "LOGA". When she returned with the receipt and my friend's credit card, it was a tap on my friend's shoulder to pass her. EXCUSE ME?? I may not know if she had a bad day or what problems she is going through, but this standard is horrible and unacceptable, even as a normal decent human being. Loga is definitely not suited for the service...
