[Publico] Would recommend reserving before heading down, because it was full house the night we went! The service was also really amazing at @publico_sg that night!
Pizza Tartufata ($28) Black truffle, porcini mushrooms, smoked scamorza, mozzarella and truffle oil. You can definitely smell and TASTE the strong truffle here. I love how it's so cheesy and the crust is the thicker, doughy and airy kind which I enjoy! This was also pretty juicy I loved it.
Prosciutto Pizza ($30) Thinly sliced prosciutto, arugula, mozzarella, shaved parmesan. Although this pizza was already pretty good when we had this first, I was defo more amazed by the Tartufata ๐คญ.
Prosciutto Burrata (150gm) ($33) This came with 20-months aged Parma Ham, and albeit a little salty, it went really well with the creamy burrata that's not too watery at the same time. You could literally taste the "milk" in this burrata - probably one of the best I've tried thus far! (Do let me know if you've tried any that's better!)
Crab "Mamma Rosa" Rigatoni ($34) There's a generous amount of crab meat, and I enjoyed the entire flavour of this dish! There's a slight seafood taste from the crab, mixed with tomato and ricotta, and served with their house made rigatoni pasta.
Calamari & Cauliflower Fritti ($20) This side came as a really huge bowl that's great for sharing. The Lemon and Coper Aioli was also a pretty flavorful dip that we finished even before the calamari and cauliflower ๐คญ. The batter was really crispy and the cauliflower was also pretty crunchy ๐คค.
Publico Tiramisu ($15) The Tiramisu was complimentary as it was for a birthday, and oh my this was really good. Made with espresso, pure cocoa, coffee liqueur, you could definitely taste the alcohol, but it's not too overpowering, and had a good flavour balance with the really smooth and creamy mascarpone. Couldn't stop helping ourselves to more, and the cookies on top also added good crunch and flavour!
It's definitely not the most wallet-friendly here, but for the quality you are getting, and also for the amazing service we had, it's definitely a place I'd recommend, and wouldn't mind...
ย ย ย Read moreTerrible service. Let me explain. My mom and I arrive, planning on having dinner and drinks. After we order drinks, we are informed by our waiter that the restaurant has been having difficulty with peoples cards on their machines. Our waiter said not to worry, and he would try other machines and figure it out. He wanted to try out one machine to ensure it was working, so we ran the card through but had no luck. He assured us he would work on the situation. Literally an hour later, we still havenโt heard anything from our waiter nor have seen him around. At this point we are hungry and flag down someone to help us and ask for an update on if any other machines are working. The manager comes over and suggested we walk the 5 minutes to an ATM. No apology or anything. Unfortunately I was dealing with an injury and was in pain and couldnโt bare the pain to walk anymore and my mom wouldnโt be able to navigate her way to find the ATM even with google maps. We thought by this point due to being neglected by our waiter for an hour at the very least, an apology was in order. The manager disappears somewhere and we had to flag down our waiter again and ask if we could e- transfer for the two drinks. Not sure what happened at this point as the info the waiter was giving me was not the info I needed for an e-transfer, and through conversation of trying to figure it out, my mom mentioned that the least they could do is comp the drinks. The waiter only then apologized, and continued to say itโs not just us that were having issues with the machines. What the actual heck- then put up a sign or let customers know BEFORE they come in and order something that you can only accept cash at that time. They wasted an hour of our time and the manager just stood there looking at us and couldnโt be bothered to apologize. That is terrible management! After an hour and 15 minutes we got our two drinks comped. All that over two drinks. Please donโt waste your time at this restaurant...
ย ย ย Read moreHad my partner's birthday dinner here on 25th February. There were a lot of different waitstaff but unfortunately we got two extremely rude, passive aggressive and miserable looking waiters on the night. Our experience was odd from the very beginning. Firstly we disclosed my daughter's food allergy - I'm not sure if this annoyed them as they seemed put off as soon as we were seated. The first waiter spoke to us and said "What are you going to eat?" which was extremely odd seeing as we had only just sat down. We said we hadn't had a chance to look at the menu yet, and asked what he recommended which was to share calamari and meatballs, then order a pizza and pasta. He went away and came back after a few minutes - by this stage we had decided to order our own meals separately (not sure if this annoyed him also) and one of our party hadn't decided what to order yet. The second waiter was definitely annoyed by this. The food was ok - overall pretty good but nothing special. When we were ready to pay the bill, the second waiter was directly behind our table at a register and knew we were waiting to pay. He decided to ignore us until we gestured to the first waiter who said "behind you". Then the second waiter said, "I'm right behind you" very slowly and patronisingly, like we were slow learners, when he knew full well we were waiting. There was more rude behaviour when we paid the bill, and needed help with signing on the screen. The second waiter says "Use your finger" in the slowest possible tone, extremely condescendingly. I'd love to mention these two guys by name but unfortunately they weren't wearing name tags. They both had wide, long, blank faces. The other waitstaff are probably great but unfortunately we got those two. Another thing to mention - table water was available from a jug but we were only offered paid options, either still or sparkling. Maybe they just didn't like Australian tourists. Weird experience! Definitely...
