Was there on a Sat afternoon for lunch. Tried to make reservation on Friday night but the hotel website indicated no availability. Managed to book via Chope instead.
Went for their $28++ lunch semi-buffet. Staff informed that drinks option required additional $8++ top-up and one could get unlimited refills of coffee and 3 types of juices from the machine.
For mains, we opted for rotisserie chicken (half) and fish of the day (barramundi).
The place was bustling as there were multiple tables by guests who's having an event at the hotel itself.
Our mains arrived within 12 minutes after we placed our order. I loved the fish as it was served piping hot. Staff cautioned that the sauce for the fish was spicy but actually, there was barely any heat to it. Haha.
Rotisserie chicken was lukewarm when served and overall, pretty healthy tasting. Loved that there's adequate greens on the plates.
For the buffet items, must try the kombu truffle butter. Can put on bread, on fish or on the chicken to level up the umami. Or, can have the butter with the cranberry rustic bread.
Other buffet items included a pasta dish, two types of baked potatoes, chicken meatballs with spinach, mussels and clams in curry broth.
Only one soup was available that day, and that was the seafood chowder. There's a hint of sweetness but not much seafood taste.
Two flavours of pizza that day; margherita and gochujang chicken. Seems like crowd favourite as it got depleted quite fast. No worries, as kitchen did churn out the next batch pretty soon after that.
For dessert, I enjoyed their tiny mini cakes of tiramisu, blueberry and mango flavours. And also fresh fruits like watermelon and honey dew.
Staff was friendly and proactive in coming around to our table to check if we needed any top up of water. Was delighted that staff made the effort to remember who was having warm or cold water. Thank you for taking care...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to this restaurant around 6 PM yesterday, hoping for a good dining experience, but it turned out to be quite disappointing. Hereās what I experienced:
1:Limited Food Choices and Cold Dishes The variety of food was underwhelming, with additional about 5 small "special dishes." Each portion was tiny, just a single bite. To make matters worse, these dishes were served cold! It felt like they had been prepared and left out for too long. Reading those glowing reviews about "great service and amazing food" now feels questionable.
2:Understaffed, Poor Service The restaurant was busy, but there clearly werenāt enough staff to handle the crowd. The service felt chaotic, and I wondered how they could ever achieve the āexcellent serviceā some reviews mentioned with so few staff members on the floor.
3:Chef Justin Deserves Praise At the grill and pasta stations, there was a bit of a wait because only one chef was handling both sides. Despite being visibly overworked, Chef Justin (I got his name from a service staff) managed to stay calm and professional, catering to every customerās requests with patience. Kudos to him for his dedication amidst the chaos!
4:Low Value for Money For 98++, the experience was far from worth it. There are other hotels and restaurants offering better food options and overall value. I canāt recommend this place based on my visit.
Final Thoughts Overall, the food quality, service, and value didnāt meet expectations. If youāre looking for a worthwhile dining experience, you might want to look elsewhere. Hopefully, the management can address these issues and improve in the future.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI loved the intro but not the after entryā¦š. The cocktails were mediocre. The display for Alexandra Allure was fun to watch but the drink lacks character... š„±. The lychee martini tasted like a can drink - nothing special and no taste of any alcohol.
The food came late. It appeared the kitchen was having issue or not cooperative with the Bar. We waited a long time for the drinks (had to remind the bar server several times of the more than half hour wait for my friendās Bailey š³(itās only a pourā¦)) and the foodā¦Lavin was kind to compensate us for the wait with their left over desserts. The small cakes tasted old. The steak cubes and fried chicken were edible. We couldnāt believe the chef would approve old walnuts to be served (they had white coating; you could smell its rancid and taste it)! When questioned, he gave the look to Lavin that āweā were being difficult. I invited the chef to taste it since he doubted the feedback. Reluctantly, he tried it and wanted to disagree with it. I asked him to try another, which he didnāt. Then he muttered some excuses instead of admitting itās their care-less attitude. When asked for replacement, he said they ran out of walnut. He also reluctantly agreed to give us dried cranberries. The dried cranberries were old and tasted they were not properly stored. Tsk, tsk, tsk š«¢.
We didnāt appreciate their kitchen being dishonest with the cheeses; given us two types instead of the four types stated in their menu. When they finally took out the two cheeses, the server from the kitchen was unhappy. It was as if we troubled himā¦
Itās a shame the service, food and cocktails do not match their look and vibe.
I did enjoy the breeze from the big...
