I recently visited ēŽ‹å°čµž, the first Hunan cuisine outlet in Singapore, and it was an exciting experience. As a fan of flavorful dishes, I was eager to try their offerings.

The aroma of their dishes is simply captivating. I started with the Kampung Chicken with pork intestine, which was a standout. The combination of tender chicken and rich pork intestine makes for a hearty meal, especially when paired with rice.

Next, I tried the Casserole Tofu. It was fragrant and perfectly cooked—not too salty, which allowed the natural flavors to shine through. This dish would be a great option for anyone looking for something comforting.

The shredded potatoes were decent, but they didn’t quite match the level of the other dishes. While they were well-prepared, they lacked a distinct flavor that would elevate them.

I was excited to try the Golden Pickled Fish, but it had a slight "fishy" taste that I found a bit off-putting. I believe this dish has potential and could be improved with a bit more seasoning or freshness.

The Braised Abalone with Loofah was another highlight. The sauce was incredibly fragrant and aromatic, making it a perfect complement to rice. The balance of flavors here was spot on, and I highly recommend it.

Overall, my experience at ēŽ‹å°čµž was enjoyable, with several dishes that showcased the bold flavors of Hunan cuisine. I look forward to returning and trying more dishes on the menu. If you're in the mood for aromatic and hearty food, this is definitely a place...

Recently checked out Wangxiaozan Hunan Cuisine, a cozy, family-style spot that quietly opened its doors in November 2024 at Alexandra Central.

We kicked things off with the classic Fried Pork with Chilli, a must-order for any Hunan meal. The flavours were decent, though it lacked the punch and fiery impact found at a few other Hunan spots in town. The Fried Beef offered a comforting, home-cooked familiarity - simple, satisfying, and nostalgic.

The clear standout of the evening was the Chilli Fried Chicken (辣子鸔) — crispy, fragrant, and bursting with seasoning - easily the dish I'd come back for. On the other hand, the Fried Pork Stomach with Pickled Vegetables missed the mark, with the pork stomach tasting too gamey due to improper cleaning. Thankfully, the service team, led by the very kind manager Jimmy, handled it gracefully by cancelling the order without fuss.

We ended the night signing up for a membership for some extra perks — so I guess we'll be back to see how the rest of the...

My colleagues and I were looking for something new in town for our monthly team lunch.

Happen to know the lady boss of the store and I suggested to try out some hunan cuisine.

As I am a vegetarian who is quite particular on how the food is being prepared and served. The staff were friendly and understand my dietary need. Special arrangement was made to some of the vegetables dishes for me.

Taste of the vegetables and customised dishes were delicious! It’s really tasty and will make you ask for another bowl of rice!

Feedback from my colleagues were awesome too! They like their chef recommended dishes. And of course, they love this dish ā€œTang Hoon with shrimpā€

Definitely will recommend my friends who happen to visit Alexandra central mall to try out this awesome hunan...

ā€œHands down, the best Fried Pork with Chili I’ve ever had! Among the many Hunan restaurants springing up in SG, this spot truly stands out with its signature dish—bursting with flavor and unmatched by the competition. However, I was a bit let down by the decision to serve ice lemon tea without a straw. While I understand the intent behind the no-straw movement, it feels impractical in this context. Hopefully, they reconsider this detail to enhance the overall dining experience.ā€ I visited it for the fourth time today and i feel that the consistency isnt there for the main dish. Lacked the impactful flavour of the previous time. Hmm?
