Shifted in this area for 8 months, passed by Whisk & Paddle umpteenth times.. Finally, I am here!
I like where this restaurant is situated - within the compound of Bukit Gombak Park with greeneries and washroom is next to it.
I came around 545pm and only 2 tables were occupied. When I stepped in, the feeling I got was pleasant and calming.
Menu was accessed via QR code, and oh boy... it was extensive, and we were spoilt for choices. We were hungry and ended up ordering the following:
Mushroom soup was genuine, had visible mushrooms served with a decent strip of bread that was toasted to crisp
Calamari nicely fried that makes the batter light and airy, not dry squid itself is not tough and rubbery but rather soft, which is breakable when biting into it
Fish & Chip decent portion quality of fish is good, doesn't taste like dory batter is crispy, and the flesh of fish is fresh, which is paired with tartar sauce
Pork collar about 6 to 7 slices with a combination of meat and some fats. accompanied with finely mashed potatoes , some stalks of salad, and picked beetroot (I think) had that charred taste, texture is tender portion little small, though
Hawaian Pizza this is only item that was a let down hardly able to see the ham and pineapples for me, it tasted more of sweet rather than savoury. there's this little sourish tomato sauce which is the base then topped with ingredients and then I think, ketchup was drizzled as the final touch. overall it tasted too saucy and the Hawaian doesn't stand out pizza wasn't exactly thin nor the usual crust. It was an in-between, which was bitey. Not sure if it's charcoaled pizza
1 mango smoothie 1 Iced Matcha
Will I return again? Yes, definitely!
However, not too often as the price can be little steep.

Read moreFor people who resides in Punggol area, Whisk & Paddle is of no stranger for it is located along the river side. I have been there a few years back when I was looking for branch in Punggol area. Now that it has opened another outlet in the West, we are really glad.
Opening its door to the public since 5th September in Bukit Gombak Park, Whisk & Paddle is housed in a glass house theme structure surrounded by lush greeneries. It is conveniently located with a stone throw away from Bukit Gombak MRT and PCN (Park Connector Network)
Fortunately for this period, we are still able to dine in a small group and catch up over a glass of beer and some food to fill ourselves.
Beer - $13
Fresh clams were served in skillet and comes with 2 slices of toasts. Clams were big and plump.
Broth was naturally sweetened by these seafood with hints of garlic and butter aroma. We enjoyed the dish however the soup may be on a salty side alone, therefore its best goes with the toasts.
The battered haddock fish was fried to golden brown perfection. The dish was served with thick cut fries and tar-tar sauce. If you enjoy Fish & Chips, you cannot go wrong ordering it.
Fish & Chips - $25.80
Chilling with good food overlooking the lush greeneries through the grass house.
Pizza crust was thin and crispy with parts of it charred. We were kind of engulfed by the fragrance of lemon grass at the moment it was served. The ingredients were visible, topping the crust with red onions and a handful of cut prawns.
Tom Yum Pizza - $24.80
I was thinking what drinks to order and in the end I went ahead with refreshing smoothie consist of Watermelon and Lychee Flavour.
Watermelon Lychee Smoothie - $8.50

Overall atmosphete is great, its cozy and you can tell there is effort in the decor but the food was disappointing.
Visually, the food looks great like nothing is amiss. When the mushroom soup touched down on our table I knew I made a mistake walking in.
The soup (img attached) was watery, almost bland, there are mushrooms alright but every bite was just as questionable as the first. Save your appetite and move on like its a bad breakup.
The 'fresh' clams in white wine sauce, they claim its fresh. The 2.5 slimy clams I had the misfortune of putting in my mouth made me wished the tea could wash away all my pain. Did not finish due to the slimy taste it left in my mouth, the sauce is a another chapter they should probably close. (Ill talk about the bread later)
The Weekend Breakfast Plate! Looks great, could be great? Id advise trying other mains, you might have a better time than we did. Sauteed mushrooms could use more sautéing, was still okay. The sunny side up option gave 2 eggs, one fully cooked and one sunny. Salad is as salad can be, pork sausage and bacon could always be better in terms of flavour or market options.
Both dishes came with 2 slices of bread, I love bread to bits. I gave up my bread at home for this bread. Is it good bread? Still alright but I wouldnt give my bread up again. (Sorry bbgorl)
The saving grace for this whole meal was the tea and presentation of food. Didnt try their extensive drink menu but please dont let me stop you from going there.
TLDR: If you like to salt your own food and perhaps leave unhappier this is the place for you. It could just be my ultimate poor luck in food selections but perhaps you alongside many others may feel...
