I have been a regular patron of Ya Kun Kaya Toast for years because of the unique quality and texture of the eggs that Yakun provides although I can get a similar kaya toast set at half the price at the foodcourt. Jurong Point branch is the nearest outlet from my home which I frequently patron. For the past 1 year, the service rendered has been compromised and is not getting better. Sometimes I do get very irritated by the cashier who always reply when I said "Set A; Kopi" and her reply is always or doesn't sound like asking " BIG CUP ah".... Hello! Ask your customers want coffee in regular cup size serving or "upsize" lah not straight way say "BIG CUP ah" d d want customers to order the largest serving of the coffee cup size. I know you want sales. Can you imagine if you go to a prawn noodles stall where there is 3 serving sizes of $4, $6 and $10 and the auntie goes "$10 BIG Bowl ah" ok. Meaning you must buy the biggest serving instead of asking which serving size you would like to order. Would you tell her off?? In fact, I have been very forgiving and come back to this branch again and again even though there are a few times that they have forgotten to deliver the bread that I have ordered and the eggs are less than 50% cooked and I have to asked the staff to change it instead of them noticing it themselves. And also the "BIG CUP ah" thingy In the recent 2 weeks, the cashier has forgotten to send in my order to the bread counter for my consecutive visits and I waited for more than 15 mins where I have to go and asked for myself if my breads are ready. 2 days ago, I went again. This time the eggs quality is highly compromised again. Undercooked! You can see the raw egg white on the plate when served its like 30-40% cooked! (refer to photo attached) The cashier change when I brought it up immediately. The 2nd serving of the eggs are still the same. No QC was done or I would say don't even bother attitude. By the way, the cashier and the staff there are not new. In the end, I did not eat the eggs that say. How to swallow down my stomach??? As a business owner, I am extremely disappointed for this kind of standard from the staff as it will affect the reputation of brand that is being built over the years. In fact, I have written in a feedback via email but no response from you guys yet! DISAPPOINTMENT *pardon my Singlish*

Very disappointed with my takeaway kaya butter toast meal today. I expected my half boiled eggs to turn warm and my toast to turn soggy so no surprises there. But the presentation was super messy and service was bad! First, there was kaya on the outside of the plastic bag (which contained toast in paper bag and eggs in a paper cup). I requested for the staff to clean it for me and she obliged, so that's that. Second, my drink was still not ready after my toast and eggs were done. After collecting my toast and eggs, i stood at the drink collection area with my number tag for about 3 minutes and realised that the staff was brewing drinks as soon as customers ordered them. So i asked how long more i needed to wait for my drink, and she replied, "you never ask?" I suppose she meant i should have asked earlier? But how would i know? The other customers didn't have to repeat their drink orders to her. Third, when she eventually passed me my drink, it was obviously made so hastily that there was condensed milk all over the carrier, making my fingers sticky. I requested for the staff to clean it, but only a little was cleaned off, leaving some still at the sides. It was sufficient for me to carry the cup without staining anything so i left it at that. Had to bring the food into the public toilet to wash my hands to get rid of the stickiness the first time around. Lastly when reached home ready to eat my meal, i realised the spoon provided had some brown stains. I asked for my eggs without pepper and dark sauce so the stain definitely didn't come from the sauce. Think it's dried up kaya with some toast bits. Had to get my own spoon. Dear Ya Kun, takeaways are supposed to be convenient to consume so that customers can carry on with life afterwards. If i just took whatever your staff gave me today, i might have stained my clothes or other people's clothes with kaya and condensed milk, and perhaps gotten food poisoning from the dirty spoon. And who knows how long I'd have to wait for my drink if i didnt voice out?

Had been patronising them since day 1 they opened at JP. Service is not consistent at this branch, depending on who the cashier was, who the drink maker was on that day. Today, the cashier seemed lost and needed to keep on repeating my order as if she was not listening and unsure. The service overall was on most occasions NOT friendly, no smiles but only black faces. I ever encountered very lousy customer service from the kopi auntie who assumed the drink I ordered, added more hot water into my kopi C when I requested for more evaporated milk due to the bitterness. She even showed bad attitude and argued with me when I asked for more milk instead of water. That staff needed training very badly! Today, the ikan bilis and crackers served in the nasi lemak were chewy and not crispy. The staff should maintain their freshness in airtight containers. Prawn thick bee hoon was kinda tasteless though the prawns were pretty fresh. The kaya toast were not well toasted, looked unappetising and not crispy too. Can the HQ take a good look and find out what is going on with your HQ branch's standards???
