Maehwa Restaurant — Restaurant in Bratislava

Unbelievable. We had a great evening at the cinema and wanted something nice to eat. I have orderd from them via Bolt Food but what a revelation laid ahead of us. This restaurant is a bad joke! It is an affront to Korean cuisine and an insult to paying customers. Obviously, with their udon dishes some additional cooking and assembly is required as the noodles came frozen. I love authentic Korean food (which I had the good fortune to sample in numerous establishments worldwide for over ten years now), but this is at best a tasteless semi-product based imitation of Korean food. Their Mandu Guk base tasted artificial (stock cube perhaps), the mushrooms were either frozen or comming from a tin/can, the dumplings were a disappointment too at a price of 3.50 euros. The Zzazanmyeon was awful on all fronts. It was just an inedible sludge and they ask 11.90 euros for something they shoud pay customers to eat. Their Bulgogi Dolsot Bibimbap looked almost like the real thing but was lacking flavor and freshness. I would not pay more than 3 euros for it, but they have the audacity to ask 14.90 euros. This restaurant...

Well worth the drive to Zlate Piesky. The food was delicious. Amazing kimchi. Everything we tried was delicious (the sauce that came with pork belly was too oily), my favorite was the kimchi soup (it was bubbling when it came to the table). Nice staff, you can pay with card. We will definitely back to try sushi and other korean dishes. The menu is just never-ending (way too many items I would say). They have lots of seafood and also some vegan options. The exterior is horrible, the interior is also so-so (would expect nicer premises considering...

Jedlo a obsluha výborné, treba však rátať s vyššími cenami. Ale oplatí sa.

NESKUTOČNE SKVELÝ PRÍSTUP!

Aktualizujem svoju pôvodnú recenziu o pre mňa neskutočný zážitok. Objednali sme si s manželkou z Maehwy dve jedlá cez donáškovú službu. Zatiaľ čo jej jedlo bolo dobré, moje kórejské rezance s hovädzím mäsom neboli chuťovo nič extra a ani mäsa tam veľa nebolo. Bol som jednoducho sklamaný, že za 10 eur (po zľave) som dostal priemerné rezance, ktoré by som si mohol dať hocikde za polovičnú cenu.

Napísal som preto do príslušnej donáškovej služby negatívnu recenziu a asi o dve hodiny za mnou osobne prišiel majiteľ reštaurácie (zrejme preto, že manažér reštaurácie mal dovolenku), niekoľkokrát sa ospravedlnil za negatívny zážitok a priniesol náhradné jedlo, ktoré už chutilo tak výborne, ako jedlá, ktoré som v Maehwe jedol predtým. Nič takéto sa mi ešte nestalo – taká ochota, úprimná ľútosť, proste neskutočné.

Vysvetlil, že ho to mrzí, že mi takto pokazil zážitok, pretože dobré jedlo je pre neho dôležité. No, cítil som sa nakoniec ja ako chrapúň, čo vám poviem, ale... wau.

Tip, ak nebudete vedieť, čo si dať: Bulgogi v Maehwe sú najlepšie hovädzie, aké som kedy jedol, fakt odporúčam – ale čím ma tentoraz reštaurácia dostala, je fakt ten osobný prístup. Na Slovensku na takéto niečo zvyknutí skrátka nie sme.

Klobúk dole pred majiteľom, že mu tak veľmi záleží na reputácii svojho podniku a naozaj sa snaží, aby každý zákazník odchádzal z reštaurácie spokojní. Všetka česť. Maehwu odporúčam a po tejto skúsenosti nielen...
