Friends' Café & Bar — Restaurant in Michalovce

Upon entering and sitting down, we had to await waitress for a quite a long time to acknowledge us. We have placed our order however they ran out of strawberry ginger ale which was on the offer; and so I have ordered original ginger ale with syrup. I was told I cannot have syrup because you do not serve it and do not have it on the till. After I have checked your menu, you do in fact serve extra syrup to mix with non-alcoholic beverages (photo below). Both waitresses were really unhelpful and arrogant when I pointed it out to them. The cheesecake we ordered arrived after I asked for it the second time. I asked for 2-3 teaspoons, still got only one and at the end, we have found a hair in it!! What seems like a hip, progressive cafe quickly becomes painfully local when you show up 10 minutes before closing and you are told that “the coffee machine was already washed and shut down half an hour earlier”. We are volunteers working night shifts with Ukrainian refugees, and we were grossly disappointed. A pro tip: if you don’t serve the full menu after a certain hour, say so on your webpage and/ or social media. We sadly won’t be back again. PS Keďže sme dobrovoľníci v stanovom mestečku pre utečencov, vypiť si kávu v “riadnych prevádzkových hodinách” pre nás nie je možné.
