Gostilna Pri Konfinu — Restaurant in Kobarid

Not recommended for solo female travelers or people of color. I had a disappointing experience here. When I arrived around 7:30 PM (the restaurant is open until 10 PM), I politely asked if there were any tables available. The older man at the front was extremely rude and dismissive. Due to a language barrier, I used Google Translate to communicate, but he still turned me away, saying no tables were available—even though I could clearly see that less than half the smaller dining room was occupied.

I then asked about takeaway and was told it wasn’t possible because they had only one server and one cook. I completely understand if they were short-staffed, but the rudeness I experienced was not okay. Moments after I left, I saw two men pull in and get seated without issue.

As a solo female traveler and person of color, I did not feel welcome here. The lack of patience or basic courtesy made the experience feel discriminatory...

The meals are worth the price. The only negative was a starter plate with a couple of slices of salami, cheese and olive oil that was served to us without being asked and for which we were later charged 7 euros. please point out to guests that this will cost money. if I don't want to consume the appetizer platter you have to dispose of it and I am not a fan of wasting food. if you appreciate your guests, serve the platter for free or ask if the guests would like to give a small starter. 7 euros are definitely too...

CERTE PERSONE DOVREBBERO CAMBIARE MESTIERE! Domenica ora di pranzo, entriamo e chiediamo se ci fosse posto per due, senza prenotazione, ci dicono di sì e ci fanno accomodare e in pochi minuti ci portano il menù. Passa una decina di minuti, vediamo il personale passarci davanti ma nessuno si avvicina e dopo circa una ventina di minuti eravamo sempre lì in attesa, senza nemmeno qualcosa da bere. Nel frattempo, un signore che penso sia il titolare, passa davanti più di qualche volta senza chiederci nulla. Dopo un po’ entra una coppia, viene fatta accomodare al tavolo vicino, e il signore dopo pochi minuti si precipita da loro a prendere l’ordinazione. Io, un po’ seccato, mi rivolgo a lui chiedendo se fosse possibile ordinare, vista la lunga attesa; mi risponde che non sa chi era arrivato prima. Rispondo che lo sapeva benissimo dato che ci aveva visti più volte. Viene al nostro tavolo e mi dice che bisogna avere pazienza e mi fa un gesto con il braccio indicandomi la porta, gesto che ho ritenuto maleducato perché ci stava indicando l’uscita. Porto pazienza e ordino ma quando poi ha continuato a dire che senza prenotazione non si può pretendere, ci siamo alzati per andare via. La ciliegina sulla torta è che pretendeva 5 euro solo perché ci eravamo seduti al tavolo!! Siamo usciti e andati nel ristorante a 100 metri da lì ed abbiamo trovato personale gentile e prezzi migliori!! Caro gestore,...
