Loverčič Igor s.p. - Gostilna žeja — Restaurant in Nova Gorica

We stopped on the way for lunch. Outside on the sun(early spring) everything was full, so we were offered inside or big table outside, but the only one in shade(thats way free;)). When I politly suggested that we can wait for small table on the sun, where two guests was almost on the way,..he raised his voice in anger and said very loudly(people turn around)"you didnt reserve and now you even want to choose. Sit here if you want, or dont. I dont care..." What a behavior, rude attitude,....of course we didnt sit down. With a bitter aftertaste we left and in the next village we found a taverna with tables in the sun and a friendly waiter. Later we found out that this unfriendy server was owner! Totally bad impression and thats why bad rewiev, but I have to admit it...

Premetto che con Igor, il titolare, ci conosciamo da un a vita e la mia recensione sarà sicuramente viziata dalle impressioni delle innumerevoli cene consumate alla sua mensa. Eh già, è da una vita che i suoi piatti deliziano il mio palato e mai hanno deluso. Tutti i commensali da me invitati ne hanno tessuto le lodi, e non invano. il ristorante al suo interno è piccolo e ne risente l'intimità, il sotto pergola estivo è molto piacevole. Poi che Igor abbia un occhio di riguardo per i clienti abituali è innegabile, come lo è il modo che adotta, affatto subliminale, nel suggerire la scelta delle pietanze ai suoi avventori non lasciandone il libero arbitrio, il tutto condito dal suo carattere a volte esuberante, che può assolutamente non piacere a tutti. Ma la bontà delle pietanze che serve è innegabile, gli abbinamenti sono scelti ottimamente, equilibrati, appaganti. Dimenticavo sono i frutti di mare e il pescato a regnare nelle versioni crude e non, accompagnati da una malvasia di buona beva, che Igor rinfresca con solerzia....Lo ritengo assolutamente fra i migliori in zona, se non il migliore. buono il rapporto qualità prezzo. Really an incredible dining experience at restaurant Žeja!

We had the freshest clams and crudo seafood plate, and scallops. Everything was perfectly prepared. The ambiance was charming and cozy, especially terrace.
