Hugely overpriced for average quality food. Dubious steak tartare which looked very dark brown with a very basic selection of condiments on the side: raw union rings, capers, pickles, brown toast and butter. Mains were recommended by the waiter and just so happened to be the most expensive dishes on the menu. The veal was quite tasty and came with a nice but salty mushroom sauce and a good green vegetable purée. It had a perfectly square layer of something on top that tasted like mushrooms and had a microwave heated structure. The sea bass with basil risotto was a bit bland and would have been ok at half it’s price. Actually we could have known where this was going when we ordered a white wine. Which wines do you have? Dry and medium dry. Which kinds? We have two kinds. A dry or a medium dry. The spaghetti bolognese for the kids was good. What didn’t help is that people are allowed to smoke on the enclosed terrace setting the place full of smoke. These are the highest prices we’ve paid so far in Slovenia, including Ljubljana and we’ve been to many restaurants here.

This restaurant is amazing!! I pulled off the highway only because I saw the airplanes. I hoped there was a restaurant because I wanted an excuse to talk to the pilots and maybe the children could eat lunch. I would have been happy with a hot dog and soggy potatoes. But the restaurant is serious! My younger son ordered the tagliatelle carbonara and ate every bite, except the ones I stole from him. It was a very good carbonara! The rest of us were boring, ordering chicken or veal Wiener schnitzels with fries. It’s an airport restaurant, why get anything else? But the plates we received were far beyond our expectations! And the service was classic. The waiter was very professional and very patient with my children. He did great work. Our picky 14-year old ate all his food without complaining. My schnitzel was quite good and the frites were crispy, and my wife ate so much she had to take a nap! Next time we visit I will explore the more ambitious pages of the menu. Food was very good. Ordered the spare ribs and veal schnitzel plus a kids chicken schnitzel.

The food took a little while to arrive, but maybe this is because we arrived shortly after they opened so the kitchen was just getting going?

The waiting staff were very helpful. There were a few patrons on the decking who were somewhat left alone because the waiting staff preferred to wait indoors at the bar. This was fine but meant service out on the decking was a bit slow and sparse.

I imagine this restaurant would be very good on a clear day in peak season as kids could eat their lunch and watch planes take off and land.
