This guesthouse is located not far from Bled lake and just 2 minutes away from the highway to Austria, the distance to the Austrian border is something like 50-60 km. If you plan to visit Vintgar, Bohinj lake and Bled lake you can choose this location without any doubts – all these points are easily reachable from Guesthouse Tulipan. Another “pro” for this guesthouse is their restaurant, so you do not need to think twice about the place to have dinner after long day of sightseeing. At the same time there are several super markets in Lesce, close to Tulipan.||The guesthouse is clean, rooms are big enough and the only minor point is that you would have to climb rather steep and narrow staircase to the third floor together with your suitcases. ||The room got several light sources – absolutely enough, bathroom is big, water pressure is perfect, towels and bed linen are clean and good quality, bed is comfy enough even though double bed got two matrasses instead of one. ||Wifi connection is stable and fast enough (free of charge). Staff is friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is ok, nothing special but in general enough. I saw guesthouses in Bavaria wit much better choice and quality of food nevertheless breakfast is acceptable. ||Price is more or less ok for the value, especially in the middle of August when the whole Europe is on holidays driving back and forth to the seaside. All in all, if you need a stop on your way from south to north of Europe and have idea to visit most beautiful lakes of Slovenia I could strongly recommend this guesthouse Tulipan with...
Read moreMy visit to Restavracija in Prenocisca, Slovenia, was a delightful culinary experience, showcasing authentic Slovenian cuisine in a warm, inviting setting. This charming restaurant delivered on flavor and quality with every dish we tried: fish, schnitzel, pumpkin soup, and gnocchi. The fish was expertly prepared, boasting a crispy coating and tender interior, while the schnitzel was golden, hearty, and paired with a well-balanced side. The pumpkin soup stood out for its creamy texture and subtle nutty undertones, likely from Slovenia’s signature pumpkin seed oil. The gnocchi was pillowy and satisfying, served with a rich sauce that tied the dish together beautifully. The cozy ambiance and attentive staff created a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed meal. Online reviews on platforms like Tripadvisor and Google consistently praise the restaurant’s homemade charm, friendly service, and reasonable prices. Diners frequently highlight the quality of traditional Slovenian dishes and the staff’s dedication to a memorable experience. While a few reviews mention occasional inconsistencies, such as varying portion sizes, the overwhelming sentiment is positive, with many recommending it as a must-visit. The restaurant’s quaint interior and commitment to fresh ingredients make it a standout in Prenocisca. For anyone seeking flavorful, authentic Slovenian fare in a comfortable setting, Restavracija in Prenocisca is an excellent choice, leaving a lasting impression of Slovenia’s...
Read moreIf you don't need accommodation very near to Lake Bled then this is a cost effective and comfortable place to stay. But you will need a car or have tours booked where the driver will pick you up. It is about a 10 minute drive to the Lake.||We stayed in a suite which was very spacious and had a full tub/shower and large bathroom. The hotel served a fairly varied complimentary breakfast (at least there was cereal, yogurt, a toast maker and fruit apart from the standard eggs, cheese and meats) and had a really good dinner menu serving tasty food (I think the locals like to eat there too). It was great to be able to eat there after a long day tour in the Alps.||Staff were friendly and helpful, the only reason I did not give this a 5 star rating was because one of the reasons I booked Guesthouse Tulipan was because their rooms were air conditioned. Well the air conditioning in our room did not work. Fortunately the windows opened and the nights weren't so hot that it was...
