Beli labod 2（白天鹅餐厅） — Restaurant in Upravna Enota Ljubljana

We went there after seeing the reviews on Google and because we were craving for some spicy Szechuan food. We ordered the beef in spicy chilli oil/sauce, hot iron plate seafood, crispy chicken, white rice. 3 cola and a beer. The beef was very very tasty. We have tried the spicy chilli oil dishes in few other places and this one was not that spicy compared to the one we have tried in London or in Den Haag. This one also didn't have the numbing sensation that you get from Szechuan chilly peppers. But then again, they don't call it Szechuan dish. It's just beef in spicy chilli oil. However, I actually loved the spice level of this one. The other ones we tried were at times a bit too spicy. This one was just perfect and was extremely tasty. If you can handle a bit of heat, definitely give it a try. The hot iron plate seafood was nice but nothing extra ordinary. Crispy meat were also nice. Altogether we paid 55 euros. the variety and types of dishes is more or less similar to what one gets in most local Chinese restaurants. we tried the specials - duck and the beef in pepper sauce + a chicken fried rice. the duck was quite good and flavorful with crispy skin, but the beef was more capsicum and less pepper. the rice missed much of any flavor unfortunately.

also tried a weird dish of prawns and fried potatoes. the concept was interesting, with thin crispy strings of fried potatoes on prawns topped with mayo, but it was bland and very oily. it would be an exciting dish if the prawns were seasoned with five spices with a topping of spicy mayo.

Best Chinese food in Slovenia - I can say that without a doubt. This is our second visit in the last week, should tell you all you need.

In all the countries I’ve travelled to and lived in before I moved to Slovenia, this is at least a top 3, if not higher. I am dead serious, it really is that good!

We ordered: Sweet and sour chicken, 10/10, actual good sized juicy breaded chicken pieces, unlike other Chinese places in Ljubljana where all you get is 95% fried dough and 5% chicken.
