Gostilna pri dragici, Dragica Prodanović s.p. — Restaurant in Upravna enota Sežana

Room was OK, air-condition worked but the vent is placed in the wrong place, it needs 20 mins to cool the rooms. IT IS NOT A HOTEL. Just some rooms to stay. Parking was not an issue for us but only 4 free slots in the compound. The restaurant staff is kind and good and understood English. Place is next to a church and very closed to Italy (Trieste, Venice and Padua) that was the only consolation. You can go in and out of Trieste without toll.

We (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed for 7 days and observed (NOTICED) that we were given breakfast which were leftovers of the prior day! (ITS NOT A BUFFET; BREAKFAST IS ARRANGED AT YOUR TABLE) only after we complained did we get fresh breakfast next day, Thanks to the lady who understood English and explained to the couple who were serving us. The breakfast is prepared in the rooms of the 2 old couples and brought to the restaurant (not sure of the hygiene maintained there) (LAST 2 DAYS, BREAKFAST WAS MADE IN THE RESTAURANT I THINK). Though you have breakfast in the Restaurant it is not a part of the hotel i.e. breakfast is not prepared in the restaurant. No elevators (challenging to carry luggage to 2nd floor), No fridge, towels were not changed (Old SOILED towels were folded again AND KEPT!) only after complaining they brought fresh towels, the couple who were taking care did not understand English or pretended that they did not understand what we are saying. Bathrooms had no facility and housekeeping was unclean. Overall, if you stay for a day you will not understand what is happening but since we were there for 7days we understood everything. IT IS NOT A HOTEL, just some OLD...

The property is clean and well located, which I consider the main advantages. However, other aspects of my stay were disappointing.

Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 8:30 which is quite early and unfortunately, the quality was not great. The bread seemed to be refreshed from previous days, and the plate with cold cuts and cheese didn't look fresh either. It appears that meals are not prepared on site — just served quickly, likely because the space is rented within a restaurant.

The staff also seemed to be in a hurry. While I was still eating, they began cleaning my table and handed me the bill including the city tax, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable.

The check-in process was also not ideal. There is no reception — I was welcomed by an older man sitting in the hallway who didn’t speak English. I had to ask a lady from the restaurant (who apparently doesn’t work for the hotel) for all necessary information.

In summary, while the cleanliness and location are definite positives, the service and organization need significant...

I stayed in this accommodation because I wanted to visit the Stud Farm in Lipica the following day, which was 15m away by taxi. I arrived around 9pm, and there was a person waiting for me, as there is no permanent reception. The rooms are located on the second floor of a house that runs a restaurant. Luckily for me the restaurant was open at the time I arrived, and I could have a wonderful dinner. The administrator was very kind and helpful. She booked me the taxi the following day and allowed me to leave my bag in the same room till I arrived back at 3pm. The room was small, with TV, linen and private bathroom. The place is located in the main center and at a crossroads, so if you leave the window open it can be quite noisy. It had air conditioning, and it was very clean. The best thing was the breakfast that was included in the price: it contained almost everything! The staff was also very friendly...
