Fenomenal service and great food. When we got there, we had ample room to park, despite realitvely busy restaurant. There might be some issues with parking if you go in at peak hours, but resturant also has a small pebble covered parking zone that could easily fit a few cars extra.

When we entered the restaurant, there was a slight queue at the entrance. The waiter asked us if we had a reservation, which we didn’t have, but he managed to somehow squeeze us anyway (props to our waiter!).

We got two pizzas, a tomato soup, a CocaCola, a cappuccino, and a beer. The tomato soup was a little on the sour side, but otherwise great; the pizzas were top notch though! The beer is their own custom house beer Kotar. It is really smooth, and very drinkable. I highly recommend trying it out if you have the chance, I loved it. And last, but certainly not least; the cappuccino was also great. Really no complaints here. The proximity to the highway makes this place a great stop on the road if you plan ahead and make a reservation. We were lucky to get a spot...

I've been here twice so far, and my experience only got better. Both times we didn't have a reservation and we were muddy from hiking, but the waiter made an effort to get us seated. Both times we assumed it would be closed since it was the 25th of December and 1st of January. Against all odds, Tonca was open both times.

The food was amazing, some of the best steak I have ever eaten, the pizza was great as well (tried some my wife ordered). The dessert was nothing to write home about, but only in relation to the main courses. Compared to other restaurants offerings, it was amazing. The menu lists only 1 "daily dessert", but ask the waiter, they have at least a choice of 6 at any point.

As mentioned, the serving staff are great and I just can't overstate how good the atmosphere is because of their friendliness and the interior decor.

I had been travelling around Slovenia for a week before and I can say this was the BEST restaurant I have eaten at 😍

This was the fresh seafood experience I had been looking for on my trip so this restaurant left my Slovenian trip on a high note. All their dishes had a nice balance in the recipes as well as uniqueness — I had their seafood platter on black corn mash (Must have)

The wait staff is also top notch. Taking the time to present and educate us about their produce. They served us homemade bread and two high quality olive oils from a local Slovenian farm.

From start to finish this place excelled in experience, taste, visual plating and service 🙂

The only atmospheric suggestion I would have is if they fenced off the patio as the restaurant is beside an active road. It would be nice to be enclosed from all the car...

Picerijo in oštarijo Tonca smo obiskali prvič. Prej smo si ogledali njihove spletne prestavitve in menu s cenami. Cene so se nam zdele nekoliko višje pri ostali ponudbi jedi, cene pic pa so v povprečju z drugimi ponudniki. Rezervirali smo mizo za šest ljudi, čeprav na spletu ni bilo priporočila za rezervacije. Rezervirali so nam mizo na vrtu v prijetni senci pod lipo. Vrtno pohištvo je preprosto vendar udobno. Vse mize so v senci pod senčniki ali pod lipo sredi vrta. Čeprav je ob vrtu kar prometna cesta ni preveč moteča. Prvo prijetno presenečenje je bilo zelo urejeno osebje - vsi v čistih belih srajcah z dolgimi rokavi in moški del osebja s črnim metuljčkom in s sivimi predpasniki. So zelo prijazni in ustrežljivi. Naročili smo pet različnih pic in ene raviole. Mene je zamikala pica z morskimi sadeži in sem natakarja pred naročilom vprašal če so na pici sveži morski sadeži, sicer pice pripravljene z zamrznjenimi morskimi sadeži ne bi naročil. Moje vprašanje je za natakarja zvenelo skoraj kot žalitev, saj je zagotovil, da pri njih takih pic ne bi nikoli pripravljali. Z veseljem in z velikim pričakovanjem sem naročil morsko pico. Med čakanjem na naročeno nam je natakar pripravil degustacijo hladno stiskanega ojčnega olja Gregorja Lisjaka, ki ga k jedem ponujajo v njihovem lokalu. S popečenim kruhom z drožmi in solnim cvetom je bila to odlična kulinarična izkušnja. Res je odlično! Zelo hitro so k mizi prinesli pice pečene v krušni peči in porcijo raviolov v lični rustikalni skledi. Če od daleč sem videl mojo morsko pico s pravo goro morskih dobrot, s petimi vrstami školjk in štirimi konkretnimi škampi. Vse skupaj posebej pripravljeno na buzaro z odlično omako, zloženo na posebej spečeno pico. Prav ne morem prehvaliti okusnosti celotne jedi, ki ti vzame čas, da jo res počasi in z užitkom poješ. Seveda se je zraven prileglo prej predstavljeno lisjakovo oljčno olje, ki je jedi dalo piko na i. Moram priznati, da je bila to najboljša pica z morskimi sadeži v življenju. Tudi ostale pice in raviole so pohvali. Vsekakor priporočam, da obiščete Picerijo in oštarijo Tonca in se sami prepričate o kvaliteti njihove hrane in postrežbe. Jaz si bom pri njih zagotovo še privoščil morsko pico!
