Porky's — Restaurant in Upravna enota Sežana

The only reason I'm giving a Two stars and not a One star is simply because the food is half decent. The service however is abhorrent! The guy who was servicing us clearly needs to NOT be in the service industry... Mind you this is not our first time at Porky's but sadly it is our last...

We asked simply for two chicken burgers and to just remove bacon and cheese for the kids, nothing else... While still in the middle of taking our orders, we decided on cheese jalapenos and then chicken wings for sharing but we thought it was too much, then we told him just scratch the jalapenos and he said dismissively, sorry too late! He already sent it to the kitchen from his ipad..it was literally seconds from when we ordered it and canceled it and he was STILL in the middle of taking our other orders .. but that's fine, we didn't argue!! We kept it...

The guy came back again 5 minutes later and reconfirmed that they need to omit cheese and bacon only from the chicken burgers and all fine up till here too! He came back with two burgers alright! just chicken and tomato inside... My wife asked him nicely to please bring the rest of the ingredients (there were supposed to be 6 ingredients) and reminded him again, just no cheese, no bacon. Out of nowhere, he snapped at us ("next time, order your burger as it is and dont waste our time!!") in a relatively high voice that the only other table heard it... I would blame it on a possible fact that maybe WE did something wrong with him or showed him a rude attitude which we absolutely didn't, we were happy to wait to get the burgers fixed which is ok...you might think that maybe he had a bad day, not sure at this point but it was shocking, unacceptable, unwarranted and just simply terrible... It left us with a bad taste in the mouth, ruined our mood as we were also very tired from a long road trip, we rushed the food, quickly ate it and left...

We usually never minded the higher prices of the place before since we know it's at a prime location at the borders between Italy and Slovenia, but it suddeny felt very very expensive for the mediocre treatment we received this time ... Our last time.

Too extreme and exaggerated? Maybe, maybe not, it takes one bad, almost violent act like that guy's to repel customers for good... Porky's just lost very loyal clients that day, and from the looks of it, probably they don't care...but they should, they are at the front face of Slovenia! Quite literally! They...

I've passed by so many times, even though it was inviting from the 1st sight, eating here seemed to be a mission impossible for me. I was either too early (before 10:00 in the morning) or too late (around closing time = 23:00). This place was always packed with people, so it had to be good. Today I've finally made it, still didn't have enough time to sit down and eat, had to do take away, but I'm so glad I've managed at least that. While waiting for my food, to control my stare at other guests' plates, I switched to taking photos. Noticing how carefully arranged and decorated the space is, with great attention to detail (Porky is omnipresent). On the go and driving, you can't allow yourself to even think about some tempting plates from the menu, but you can have pizza, which is exactly what I did and it was all I hoped for + smiling pizzaiolo Momcilo also known as Momo. Offer is great, I think even if it wasn't so, people would still come and be coming back, because of the kind and helpful staff and customer service, that is out of this world. No. 1 pizza in Slovenia, maybe even in surrounding countries ! Reasonable prices, quality over quantity always. Neat toilets. Free WiFi. Cash only (no ATMs nearby, keep that in mind). 4 stars now, when I sit down (like a proper guest) once (I'm definitely going back to taste other things, hopefully soon) and drown myself in the atmosphere, I'm sure it'll be a 5 star experience. By now I've tried pizza Rucola, Diavola, Siciliana, Indiavolata, Rucola Cesnjevci, Kmecka and Porky's I, II & III. Highly recommend them, don't know which one is better, all of them are mind blowing. They have 4 pizza doughs in offer. I've tried 3: American, Classis and The Black. 2018-04-26: For the past 10 months I've been trying different take away pizzas and patiently waiting, today I've finally sat down and tried something new: ALL YOU CAN MEAT, a huge 2 person dish, great price. Yesterday, after driving all day, I desperately needed a break and a hot meal for my safety and others on the road. I arrived at the restaurant around 21:50 and asked for a table for one. Despite the restaurant being only half full, the waiter’s response was a curt “NO, not for one only!” I tried to explain my exhaustion and need for a break, but he just kept repeating “NO,” shaking his head without even looking at me.

I have never been treated so inhumanely in my life. Thankfully, an older lady working there noticed my distress while taking an order from three other customers. She kindly asked if she could help. I explained my situation to her, and she genuinely seemed to want to assist me, showing a compassionate side that the waiter lacked entirely.

Despite her attempts to accommodate me, the waiter rudely intervened, yelling, “NO, not for one!” His behavior fell far short of basic kindness. Feeling degraded, I returned to my car and continued my journey home.

If you ever consider visiting this place, take a break from your journey but do not reward the waiter (short dark hair and a beard in his mid-30s to 40s) with a tip. His behavior is undeserving of...
