Margaritas Restaurant — Restaurant in Bayswater

One of the best restaurants that I've ever eaten at. At first glance you might think to yourself that it's a bit expensive if you only look at the prices. But if you compare the prices of their steaks for instance with Spur, then it's almost similar, but you get very proper veggies along with your choice of chips, mash or baked potato, where as by spur you can only get one side of choice. The service at Margaritas is exceptional, as you come in, the owner greets you and take you to a table (we had a booking for between 12:30 and 13h), and once the waiter comes, he/she introduce themselves in a friendly and proper manner. During the course of time the owner will also walk between the tables and check that everything is still well, as the waiters will also come check on their tables as needed The food was also very exceptional. My dad had a 500g T-bone, and me and my mom each had a 300g speciality fillet (can't remember the name, but it's 3 pieces of fillet on a hot plate, which comes with a sauce of your choice). It's really quality. Those fillets was so soft, that the steak knife cuts through it with one slice movement as if it's a piece of butter, without tearing the meat. So the prices might be close to Spur, but quality is so much better really. Here you get more than you pay for. They have cheaper meals as well like salads or schnitzel, whereby you can get a away with between R100-R150 per person, including drinks We might not have gone if I didn't have a voucher, which I've won from Radio Rosestad, as we barely ever go to eat out. But I will definitely recommend this restaurant for proper meal if you want...

We went for a business dinner on evening of the 6th of Feb. 2025 Had to ask several times for the waiter to turn down the music, after the second time asking he insisted on serving the drinks before doing it. Had to ask another 2 times after that. The ice machine makes so much noise and being seated right next to it obviously did not help, and having a view of the staff restroom ...🤔 Two of the 7 guests recieved incorrect food. But most irritating is the seating arrangement...the 7 seats were pushed into the corner right against the wall, therefor the waiters are leaning over us everytime they deliver or collect anything, we were asked to pass plates of food and dirty plates down the line. This might be fine when you are a family of 7 at a pizza place but not acceptable when a very important business partner is asked to handle my dirty plate with half eaten food The waiter was very apologetic but by the end of the evening I was dissapointed and will...

Our customer recommended Margaritas, as one of the best in Bloemfontein.

It did not disappoint. Food was great and though Steaks seems to be the firm favorite from those around us, I decided to go with the Kingklip Cleopatra. It was a fantastic surprise. Did not expect to get fish that good in Bloem.

As for the others at our table, all good and no complaints. Dominique, our waitress, was friendly and attentive.

I will certainly recommend Margaritas to anyone looking for good wholesome food.

Some observations:

The sauce list is WOW - going to come back and try some of those. The wine list is extensive, though it's a bit pricey. The food prices are reasonable considering the good portions and taste.
