Discovering this hidden gem was a bit of a challenge as there's no signage leading the way, but once you find it, you're greeted by a beautiful ambiance that sets the tone for a memorable dining experience.

However, if you happen to snag a seat on the stoep, be prepared for a chilly experience as there are no barriers or enclosures to shield you from the cold. The lack of any means to close off the area leaves it exposed to the elements, detracting from the otherwise inviting atmosphere. its a shame because the outdoor seating area offers lovely views but could use some weatherproofing.

The menu, while enticing, leans towards the pricey side. For instance, the pap and vleis starter, though delicious, felt disproportionately small considering its cost. At R120, one would expect a more generous portion size.

I opted for the ribeye for my main course, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The steak arrived unseasoned and without any sauce, leaving it rather bland and dry. It was a missed opportunity to elevate the dish with some flavor and moisture.

Additionally, the restaurant offers live entertainment, which adds to the lively atmosphere. However, during my visit, I found the volume to be a bit overwhelming. As someone with a softer voice, I found myself having to raise my voice throughout the evening just to be heard by my partner. Some adjustments to the sound level could create a more comfortable dining experience for all patrons.

While the quality of the food is commendable, the prices may deter some diners looking for better value. With a few adjustments, such as portion sizes and seasoning, this restaurant has the potential to offer a truly exceptional dining experience that justifies its...

Review of Fyre Dining

I recently visited Fyre Dining with a group of friends to celebrate my sister’s matrimonial journey.Unfortunately, our experience was marred by the staff's , particularly one of the managers at Fyre Dining, unwarranted claims that we were disrupting other customers.

We were simply enjoying our time, sharing traditional songs , which is a significant part of our culture. Instead of being embraced, we were approached and asked to tone it down, with management suggesting we were making others uncomfortable. This response felt dismissive and disrespectful, undermining our right to express ourselves in a space meant for community gathering. This behaviour is utterly disgusting considering that this month is Heritage month in South Africa, which is a month where we can celebrate our diverse heritage, and being restrained from doing that in a country like South Africa, that is healing from deep trauma of the past, this incident has triggered us a lot.

It’s disheartening that a restaurant wouldn’t foster an environment of inclusivity and cultural appreciation. Instead of enjoying a meal together, we felt censored and unwelcome. I hope the management can reflect on how they can better support diverse expressions in the future.

I cannot recommend this place if you value a welcoming atmosphere for cultural celebration. Do...

How to start this...? Perfect evening in a scenic, windless Paarl. The venue is beautiful and is situated in-between a vineyard. We were a table of 24 so loads of noise and laughs. With our numbers usually comes miscommunication with the food etc, but the staff were incredible. We have our names in advance with our orders and they learnt them very quickly, bringing the correct food timeously to the correct ppl. Minimal waiting for our food and pretty much perfect timing between courses. My wife and I shared the Braaibroitjies which were a meal on their own with the home made bread. Very yum. I had the pork belly for mains and Claud had the fillet. Both meals were prepared incredibly well and were tasty, soft and the perfect portion size. My crackling was amazing. So good. Hat off to the chef/braai master. Dessert was delicious and we shared the, I think it was the custard and ice cream. Homemade vanilla ice-cream in and on a sugar cone with the liquid custard inside the cone. Very good. Our servers interacted well with us and we were quite a noisy bunch so they handled themselves well. There was love entertainment and he was very good as well and roped us into a few of his songs. Great voice. Overall amazing experience with great people at a beautiful location and tremendous venue with delicious food. Highly...

First time visit to Fyre in Simondium to celebrate a family birthday. Cooking on fire was the attraction, as tastes change on flame. From the warm welcome by manager Chanelle, the friendly staff, and meeting the chef to pinpoint our requirements. Most tables were full, and live music was also laid on, adding to the happy atmosphere. Seated between the fire and a clear vista of the mountains, we placed our orders. Starting with mushrooms, Aubergine, and Braaibroodjies, bread, cheese, onions, and chutney. Mains consisted of a Venison with roast vegetables and a vegetarian butternut dish. All items prepared on open wood fire, but not a braai. A short but adequate wine list, a good range of hard tack, and non alcohol beverages. Taste definitely enhanced with the open fire treatment. For a lunchtime meal in the Winelands , it was perfect. Images from my side, are not great, Better ones are on their menu

For such a young restaurant offering, we found Fyre to be a hit and a miss. The setting is beautiful and the live music was a great addition to our birthday celebration, but the food was overall lacking. Given their theme is food cooked on open flame, in a country that is proud of that heritage and takes it seriously, we just found Fyre not on-par. Our skaapstertjies we not cooked long enough to render the fat and crisp up, though the prawns were delicious and cooked well. The preparedness of our steak mains was confused and had to be redone, while the peri-peri chicken was not grilled nearly enough nor was it spicy. While the concepts for dessert are clever, the menu descriptions were confusing and the execution of the malva cheesecake could be better. I'd love this spot to do well and become a go-to, but it feels there is much work to be done.
