Ristorante Pappa Grappa — Restaurant in Drakenstein Local Municipality

We visited your restaurant tonight and I want to share our experience with you.

And please note that it was not our first time dining with you.

I ordered the Pasta Funghi and added chicken. The chicken was awfull to say the least! It was hard, dry and tasted terrible. Can't really describe the taste. Needless to say, I took the chicken out of my pasta and put it on the side plate. Unfortunately the chicken taste did not leave my palette and I did not enjoy my dish at all.

We then ordered the Belgium Waffles for dessert. And those too was awfull. The waffles was hard on the outside and it tasted old. As if it was old stock and the waffles was heated/toasted to try and make them fresher.

I told the waitress about the terrible chicken and asked her to relay the message to the chef.

The chef did not even come to apologise and neither sent apologies with the waitress. And this shows that the chef has no interest in what he/she serves.

Well, you will see the time of this email, and yes it is late night. My reason for being up still is because I am now sick of the chicken, as I believe it was definately off or re-heated chicken or just very poor quality chicken.

And no, I do not want my money back, or a free dish sometime or an invite for another dinner.

We used to love your place but unfortunately I must say that your standards deteriorated, and you definately went backwards. And this is sad.

I really hope that whatever the issue is for this, will resolve fast. But for now you have lost loyal customers and I won't refer you to...

I always enjoy a visit to Ristorante Pappa Grappa, and this time, visiting for lunch, was no different. As this is a German Fusion restaurant they have a wide selection of german inspired dishes, but have other tasty options as well. We enjoyed the food and drinks with a special stand-out being their garlic snails. They offer a wide range of different outdoor seating options, mostly shaded, but also have some indoor options for those bad weather days. One major improvement I noticed was the upgrades to their kids play area, they have moved it to give a significantly more shade and has also made it a lot bigger. Overall, good restaurant option...

We had lunch for the Oktoberfest this past weekend. The service was great, and our waitress was really awesome. We received our food very quickly, considering how busy it was. The pizzas were amazing, but don’t order the Belgian waffles. The waffles were a lot smaller than they were at last year’s Oktoberfest. The kids couldn’t finish their waffles last year, but because they were so small this time around, they had no problem finishing them.
