Royal Aces Bistro — Restaurant in Eastern Cape

Terrible waitress, she sat playing Candy Crush the whole time we were there, we had to seat ourselves, get our own menus, and go look for her every time we wanted a drink or to order food. Additionally, I ordered the butter chicken pasta, menu states "WITH PENNE OR LINGUINE," I requested penne as I don't eat linguine at all. Food arrived with linguine pasta. I politely corrected and requested that they fix it, was told this is how it's made and I'll need to just eat it like that. So I ate it (very unhappily - I truly despise linguine pasta), and the butter chicken was rich but had no flavor. I ended up adding salt, pepper, sugar and a squeeze of lemon from my glass of Sprite just to give it some kind of flavor. Such a shame as I recommended this place to my party as it was so good a couple months back. Was told there's new owners. Surprise surprise. Rather just close the place down, such a massive disappointment and...

Popped in there twice today.

At first we stood at the front service desk for a while thinking that employee may have just left to attend to something but there was no one there for a while. I continued to walk to the back of the restaurant and found a staff member to enquire about the daily special.

Anyway, we left and returned about 2 hours later. Again, no one at the front desk, we walk to the back to collect menus and seat ourselves.

Before placing any food or drink orders, myself and my mum ask to use the lavatories. The floors were wet, no toilet paper, no soap, no towels to dry your hands - all of those I could tolerate but then as we were returning to our table, all you could see were dead cockroaches - we didn’t order anything just left without the waitress even noticing.

The restaurant looks very nice but needs a good clean...

Ordered butter chicken and linguine last week as take away. Waitress very friendly and accommodating. But food very disappointing. Was surprised as 2 years ago we Ordered butter chicken at bay west restaurant sit down color food was excellent . Red in color and it was tasty cooked authentic. I have cooked butter chicken so many times the flavor and the aroma is delicious. This restaurant didn't even have any aroma of the spices that it was cooked there.
