Wild Rapids Spur — Restaurant in Eastern Cape

I've never left a Google review in my life but I just had to this time so the people can know. I just finished my dinner a minute ago. I ordered steak and veg. And I need to clarify that I am super easy to please with food. I'll eat cold food, I'll eat slightly undercooked red meat, I'll eat slightly burnt food, hell I'll even eat food that arrived an hour late, but what I just experienced was atrocious. My steak arrived through Mr D, the veg was steaming hot and the steak was like warm. I understand the difficulty of keeping food warm during delivery, hell I would have warmed it myself if needed, like I said I don't mind cold food. Then I had to cut away about 50g of fat from my 300g rump if it wasn't more. I'm used to cutting of a rind of fat, that's no problem. But the steak was so incredibly disgustingly chewey and tough that I had to wrestle to get the fat off. I was using an already sharp knife and I had to go get an even sharper knife but still it was no use. Then I found out the whole steak was like this!! My hands hurt from just trying to cut the damn thing!! I asked for medium rare but received something that could've still been alive. Like I said before, I don't mind raw ish meat, I occasionally enjoy rare steaks. But if I order medium rare and received rare/blue AND it's impossible to cut even with a laser, then I've been let down as a customer. And then they have the audacity to charge R233. It's a pity Big Vics steakhouse doesn't show up on the Mr D app anymore in my area. What a disappointment from Spur. I looked forward to a lovely steak and the highlight of my evening turned out to be the damn...

My family and I arrived to close door. People were queuing outside to get in, the waiter did not communicate anything. Every one was just left in limbo as to why we standing outside.

Upon entering there was confusion around filling out the "covid register". At the same time we are met with unfriendliness.

Waited super long for our food, while some who came after us were eating already (it was burger special monday).

No update as to why our order is taking so long. We eventually asked and were told that the manager is on her way now... The manager didn't resolve the isssue, just served 3 out of the 5 meals. Waited an additional 10 to 15min for the other two orders.

By this this time my family and I were irritated and so we were also super observant . We observed that a white couple came in and within 15mins they were busy eating. This motivated me to actually write this review.

The food was not worth the wait and definitely not worth the money.

When we got home we found a piece of platistic at on the patty... Obviously took a doggybag.

I have never had a good experience at Wild Rapids spur... This restaurant seriousy needs to treat every customer equally. Customer care in this place is putrid. Food is below average. Please up your game... I think the problem in Uitenhage in eneral is that there is no real competition so companies do the least they can instead of the...

Third time I have given this spur a chance and it will definitely be the last. This time around was the worst experience by far. The waiter got our order wrong a couple of times and she forgot to bring certain things we ordered. My husband ordered a drink only for it to be brought much later because she forgot and only brought it to us once we reminded her. The fish I ordered was still undercooked and I took the grilled option thinking it will be healthier but it was drenched in butter and oil. We were there at around 7pm and they already rushed us and made us feel so uncomfortable because they were cleaning the tables around us and kept on asking when we will be finished.
