My first experience at Bramvag Spur was amazing. From when I packed my car, I was greeted by the car guard who asked to look after the car, and I said it was not a problem. We then went inside, it was my niece's birthday celebration. From the entrance we also received the best service and also the food was amazing. Our kids went on to play at the kid's zone, and the lady who were guarding them was also amazing. I loved the idea of putting tags on the kids. That is security at its best 👌. I was so relaxed after noticing how the safety of the kids was one of the priorities. However, that best beautiful experience was cut short as my car, which was parked at the parking lot where one of the managers said it was not his premises after finding myself in a position where when I got to my car and to my surprise my spare wheel was missing 😔. This all took place on the 16th of August 2024 between 16:00 and 19:30, the head of security for the parking suggested that I come back in the morning to check at the camera as to what happened because the person who is in charge of the system was not available. But before that, the car guard whom I met when I got there said he did not see anything so that is when he said let's go inside the shop and report this to the manager and check on the camera. So because I was told to come back in the morning, I then left and came back in the morning on the 17th of August 2024 to speak with the manager. Unfortunately our conversation dragged for too long and nothing was resolved where the manager ended up asking somebody else from the store to come and talk to us as he was clearly not being able to conclude or give direct indication of what is it that can be done for us and them to know for sure how the spare wheel was removed, when and by who. I feel like this matter was not handled in a proper way, or is it may I'm experiencing theft for the first at Spur? Hence, I feel confused and clueless as to how such matters should be handled. We were even told that we were blaming the manager for what had happened and that we expected him to give us money or to buy our spare wheel. He even went as far as saying firstly when we arrived we said he should give us 'something'. I mean, what is that? The main reason why I went back again was because I was told by the head of security that I should come back in the morning to hear from cctv footage manager what his cameras has shown happening to my car. I wanted to see how the spare wheel was removed by who and if we could be able to trace the person who took it. But nothing happened. Nothing was solved. I was again told to phone my insurance and claim theft as I know that this could happen to anyone and that this is South Africa and that he(the manager) also once experienced theft of their brand new Toyota Fortuna. This branch, I must admit, is beter than most but is still mediocre at best and disappointing at worst.
First issue, the prices. Charging over a R120 for a burger that has a slice of cheese on it, is unacceptable. Especially given the quality of the product served. It's clear that Spur does not use artisan ingredients or fresh patties that might justify a high price. It's overpriced for the sake of being overpriced.
Whether it was due to waste, there has been a clear decrease to portion sizes at Spur that could also have justified it's higher price range. No longer do you receive mountains of chips and onion rings, but a small handful expected from their competitors.
Second issue, DO NOT ORDER THE NACHOS. Spur uses Doritos chips and topics that were less than desirable (very sour) and charge a fortune for it. The chicken was bouncy and the chips were soggy before reaching our table.
Thirdly, I feel greater quality must be implemented with regards to the cutlery. It's not uncommon to find (glasses especially) to not as clean as should be expected.
The staff was very friendly at this branch and I must admit that the food didn't take to long, but this is not usually the case. I think this is thanks to the 2 other occupied tables at the branch at the time.
Note, there's a fantastic play area here for children, hence my 3-star rating.

Read moreI was disappointed with my recent experience at your establishment today, August 5, 2024. The chips and onion rings were soggy, and the lettuce on the burger was wilted while the tomatoes were also soggy. The pickles tasted old, and the patty crumbs on the Texan Crumbed Burger looked like they had been prepared a long time ago.
I noticed that the Spur Mimosa was under renovation. It may be beneficial for this team to take some food preparation lessons from that team.
The only positive aspect of my visit was the service.
