The Golden Dish — Restaurant in Gatesville

Yes, I know ... im most probably the only person who hasn't been here yet. Apparently the first building burnt down. I went last night. A bit scary if you are not familiar with the area, bare with me here. I expected to walk into a shop with ample space. I had to wait mostly outside for my order I wasn't comfortable as I said not use to it. Was my life in danger? No, unfamiliar brings fear its our human nature. To ease your mind there is nothing to be afraid of. It did cross my mind, what about winter should the place get full? Parking is in the road. It's a full on grab and go place. Dont make yourself at home we dont do dishes here lol. I wanted to try a full on steak masala sandwich. I did say that on my order. I went to Google what all should be on there. Yes im new to this. I wasn't asked about extra egg or cheese. I was disappointed when I got home. Of I had to add extras why not offer or yell me about it. Anyway what I got was tasty. Goldendish situated on a very busy street, was the best for takeaways when in the mood for something spicy and tasty or as were very popular for those leaving the night clubs in and around Cape Town and wanting some good food. Today, it is no longer the same, foods not great, difficult finding parking and just not the ideal food takeaways for grabbing some food in a hurry. Not ideal for whole families to visit nor very safe with all the vagrants loitering around the vehicles and entrance of this venue. Often when visiting, there would be this awful smell outside the takeaways. Goldendish Takeaways in Gatesville was thee best place for a good spicy meal. Goldendish has a variety of items on the menu. Some of the famously known meals they sell is the Full House Masala Steak Gatsby, Mince Samoosas and their Mutton Curry Salome. I too enjoyed these items on the regular, but sadly my personal opinion is that the food is no longer very good. Hope this gives some insight to those wanting...

I just wanna say that I'm a little dissapointed in what I got the other day when I went there for my second time. Golden Dish was highly recommended to me for their gatsby's, and I must say I was expecting a gatsby filled with a mixture of great flavours and freshness, but the roll was hard, and the steak was dry almost as if it was microwave heated from the fridge. Also I feel very little effort went into the presentation of the gatsby. The first time I tried the gatsby's it did not live up to the high expectations, so I was hoping the second time around I would've had the delightful experience everyone advised about, but I had my hopes up and was let down, seeing that the 2nd experience was even worse than the 1st.
