The atmosphere of the place is delightful and charming, exuding a cozy ambiance that instantly makes you feel at home. The service is attentive and friendly, ensuring that we were well taken care of. Our food arrived promptly, and I was excited to dive in. While the marinade had a rich and flavorful taste, it did lean a bit towards the salty side. Nonetheless, we savored the meal immensely.

I opted for the mixed grill, a hearty portion that was more than enough for two, and I happily shared nearly everything with my dining partner. The chips were delightfully generous, standing out in comparison to other establishments that often serve measly servings in their little baskets. The onion rings, while not the star of the show, were a nice touch, and I appreciated the added effort.

Our starters were equally impressive, with generous portions that whetted our appetites perfectly. My wife selected the fillet steak, which she praised for its perfect doneness and mouthwatering flavor. She accompanied her steak with a side of butternut squash, lovingly roasted and glazed with honey. While she requested that it be grilled a bit longer to achieve that enticing caramelization, it didn't darken much after the additional grilling—perhaps they lacked the equipment for that finishing touch.

Terrible experience with a group of 10 people. Everyone was highly disappointed with their meals. Each dish was sweet & had no flavour at all. Owner was very arrogant & obnoxious when someone complained about prawns being undercooked. He had the waitron in tears for making a mistake with an order & we could hear how he scolded her in the kitchen area. Can clearly see how badly he treats his staff. Will definitely not visit this establishment ever again & neither will I recommend it. Hate the fact that foreigners can come into South Africa & start a business using our local people & treat them like dirt. So much for wanting to support local businesses. Next time will make sure it is genuinely local.

Update 22/06/2025: Thank you for your response 2 years later. As mentioned, being under new management you are obviously trying to get feet into the store. Based on the recent bad reviews for meals, service & staff behaviour there is no way I will ever support this...

A absolute disappointment, we ordered a starter which never arrived we were given our main meal only to be told that tge starter was still being prepared. I ordered the spare ribs and received ONE Spare Rib and was told it was on special My wife's fillet steak was served on a board and went cold in about 5minutes. We can cancelled the starter. Then the waiter came over and asked us if we were going to order a sweet. Great we thought maybe the sweet will make up for the starter and main disaster. I selected a Malva Pudding with Ice Cream and wife ordered a chocolate brownie with cream. We called tge waiter over and started to give him our sweet order,he interrupted us and said Maaf/ Sorry we do not have any Sweets....we were gobsmacked paid and left with my tasteless rib in a bag. Outside a youngster asked us for some money,I gave him the bad with the rib,I hope he enjoyed it. What a disaster inside the Olive and Grill,perhaps the youngster...
