I have been a client with the @The beach Bar Multiple times even before the new move to the other side. I called the venue 1 month in advance to see if i could make a reservation for my Friends Birthday for 20 pax. I was assisted by the manager who made my reservation for the 20th Nov the Saturday 2021, the Thursday before my reservation i called the manager again to confirm that all was still in order for the special surprise birthday for my friend and he yet again confirmed that all was in order. NOW I know that this is a very popular , Busy bar that's why i specifically requested for the reservation. when i arrived at the venue with the guest of honor,( Might i add that we drove all the way from Midrand to get to this bar) arrive at the gate only to be received by the most OBNOXIOUS, RUDE "Hostess" I have ever encountered. I told her that we had a reservation inside for my friends birthday and she immediately interrupted me by saying " WE DON'T DO RESERVATIONS!) . Completely appalled by the way this young girl spoke to me as a client, I told her that i phoned 1 month in advance to make this reservation and that she should please check with management. Again she responded with utter disrespect " I said we don't do BOOKINGS". Now by this time i had surly had ENOUGH of this little girl who clearly has no business being a hostess of any kind as she is yest to learn to respect people never mind clients!!. I called for my Husband who was already inside at the table that I reserved to come and receive us at the gate.

My first experience was not great hence my previous 3 star review. My husband and I went to @The Beach on Sunday, as he has never been and wanted to experience it for himself. The atmosphere was much better than with my previous visit. Friendly staff all eager to help and assist. Was glad to learn that @The Beach has new management when the manager actually did rounds at the tables to ensure customer satisfaction. I strongly believe this is what made the change in service. The sushi we ordered was delicious. Nice and thick pieces of salmon sashimi. The salmon roses could do with more salmon and a bit less rice as the sticky sushi rice can become a bit much to chew. The rainbow rolls and california rolls were up to par. The beer battered hake we had was the definition of divine, we just had to compliment the chef on their exquisite preparation of this meal for only R 79.00...well done! The sauce served with the hake definitely compliments it and I will encourage anyone with a love for fish to try it. Their cocktails were delicious and averagely priced, which is great as I love a good cocktail. My husband did mention that the brandy special was basically not a special as it was one double brandy and coke for R 45.00 which is the going rate. Most brandy specials are between R 50.00 - R 60.00 for two doubles. This time the glasses and cutlery were clean and overall the restaurant was neat. This was one of the restaurants on my Google Maps that I saved under my "want to go" list. Me and my fiancé were in the area on the 30th of August and thought let's make a date out of our venue viewing and go have dinner here.

It's a beautiful restaurant. I believe I need to visit again in summer so that I can sit outside with my toes in the sand. This evening we sat inside, as the wind was blowing and it was still very cold (especially this evening). The waitress that assisted us were very friendly and made sure we are okay. He wanted to bring us a stand heater but we didn't feel like we wanted one. Thanks for your friendliness, assistance and making sure we are okay.

The food and drinks. We drank Hot Chocolate, and it was delicious, it was just right. We decided to share a meal and chose the BBQ ribs. It was absolutely divine! The meat fell of off the bone with ease and it was more than enough for the both of us. We also had a side dish - creamy spinach, which were also nice. In my opinion it was a bit spicy (a bit too much pepper) but nevertheless the food and drinks were very good.
