Burger Box Roadhouse Centurion — Restaurant in Gauteng

Absolutely shocking! Was extremely keen to try out the new roadhouse that a few people on PWLIC have been raving about. I am absolutely disappointed that I wasted part of my Sunday afternoon here. Firstly, there weren't many cars in the drive in, and only a few tables were occupied, the restaurant wasn't full at all, our waiter jumped at the opportunity to assist. Asked him about the difference in the types of milkshakes, his reply... The price! He disappeared when we wanted to place our food orders. eventually asked another waiter to assist or call our waiter, a while later asked the manager to call our waiter, still nothing..at the point of deciding we were going to leave he came running to our table. After receiving our food everything was ice cold, chips were so old and oily, onion rings were burnt. The bun of the burger was so soggy the paper that they have underneath the burger becomes part of your meal. Didn't know the restaurant was pet friendly, really didn't feel like spending my Sunday afternoon with a dog that constantly barks and the owners telling him to shh the whole time. Overall, a waste of my Sunday, a waste of my money and quite frankly I will never be a returning customer. I wish I just left before even...

We waited for an hour for four milkshakes and a Russian & Chips, in the midday sun...... When I addressed this with the manager, he blamed the staff and asked me to talk to the waiters as "They are like little children". He took no accountability for the absolute chaos that reigned in the food preparation area. He shouted at the waiters with customers waiting to be served and just added to the confusion. The organization for serving patrons is non-existent. Management is absent, except when they blame-shift to the staff. They won't even attempt to apologize or address the challenges... The waiters tries their best, but if the products are not delivered, there is nothing they can do except apologize to the clients and hope to not get yelled at.........

The people in the car next us left after waiting more than an hour for their foodstuff, and another person complained very loudly as he was waiting for more than an hour for a burger and chips. I was tempted to leave as well, but I realized that the waitress will be held responsible for the lost order, even though it was not her fault.

I will try them one more time in a week or two, but if the management-situation is still the same then they have lost a patron...

Struggling between 2 and 3 stars for this one. On the plus side the decor and layout of the place is amazing. Very nice looking place. Great play area for the kids, good seating for the adults as well should you choose to not dine in your car. Service was good as well.

On the down side, the food is below average and the cost is above average. We each had a cheese burger which was basically a undersessoned bland party, raw onion, tomato, lettuce and some tomato sauce. Read not special. The chips were wedges that were soggy and only barely cooked, about a teaspoon or 2 of sauce. The onion rings were super oily as in film in your mouth oily and the batter didn't stick to the onions.

Including tip we paid 276 rand for 2 burgers, 1 large chips to share and 1 onion rings to share along with a single milkshake for my girlfriend. The milkshake was essentially ice cream blended with milk and strawberry syrup. Also nothing special. The price far exceeds the quality of food unfortunately.

I cant speak for the rest of the menu but with a menu as massive as this roadhouse menu is, you can't expect quality. I find that usually the bigger the menu, the more sloppy...
