During my first visit to Coco Bistro Castle Walk, I opted for breakfast and coffee. The experience was delightful, characterized by excellent service that made the morning feel special. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that my coffee cup was never empty and that I had everything I needed to enjoy my meal. The ambiance of the bistro contributed positively to the overall experience, providing a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere perfect for starting the day.
On my second visit, I brought my wife along for supper. We were excited to try the dinner menu, and I chose their Saturday T-bone steak special accompanied by chips and vegetables. The food did not disappoint; it was flavorful and well-prepared. The T-bone steak was cooked rare as requested, showcasing the kitchen’s ability to meet specific cooking preferences accurately.
However, there was a notable issue during this visit regarding the serving temperature of the plate. As someone who prefers to savor their meat last, I found that the hot plate significantly affected the doneness of my steak. By the time I got around to eating it, it had transitioned from rare to well-done due to residual heat from the plate. This is a crucial point for management to consider; asking customers whether they prefer a hot or room-temperature plate could enhance their dining experience significantly.
The atmosphere at Coco Bistro Castle Walk is inviting and pleasant, making it an enjoyable place for both casual meals and special occasions. However, one downside during our dinner was that our waiter was not readily available when we needed assistance or had questions about the menu. While this did not overshadow our overall enjoyment of the meal, improving waiter availability could elevate customer satisfaction further.
In conclusion, Coco Bistro Castle Walk offers a commendable dining experience with delicious food and friendly service but could benefit from minor adjustments in service practices regarding plate temperatures and waiter...

I find Coco to be a mixture of the modern meeting place while still really giving one the feeling of a 'local pub'.
Through catering to almost every taste, from the steriotypical pub style foods, pizzas and burgers, cakes and sweet fillings and coffees one would normally associate with a european street café, right though to its banting menu.
There are some flaws with regards to the layout that should be mentioned. Namely that the bar is fully located withing the 'smokers' section, as well as the fact that the restrooms are also located here, meaning non smokers will need to walk through the area when in need of the restroom.
Coco can definitely accommodate for the group that would like to get together for the rugby game without the hassles of choosing a mate to host, as well as offer a place for business of a more serious nature to be done. I would recommend calling for a reservation for larger groups, especially on evenings over the weekend.
Ample parking is available withing the Castle Walk center, along with guards, however there may be shortfalls during peak times due to its populatity. In this case parking further way with in the center parking maybe an option, or even finding a spot on Prieska rd.
Coco accepts card payments (unclear as to the acceptance of Samsung Pay), although there didn't seem to be provision for payment via Zapper, SnapScan...

I have no idea how long this restaurant has has its doors open to the public, but surely tonight felt like a restaurant opening evening gone terribly wrong...
WOW, management or owner was behaving so amature-ish and unprofessional, I almost crawled into a shell of shame on their behalf. Management treated staff as if they were children, shouting on 3 employees (that I could see) and literally running around like chickens with no heads.
I even had to ask one of the female management/ matre'd to lower her voice while she was swearing left and right and shouting at the employees.
I was so shocked, it was pathetic.
Should anyone go to this place, I'd rather recommend you order a take away as the food was delicious, but make sure you are ready for the outing as the reception of this restaurant is chaos and unwelcoming.
I have been in the restaurant industry for many many years, and absolutely would NEVER allow this in a restaurant.
Should you be brave enough to come to this place even after fair warning, have lots to drink and sit somewhere in the corner- the front tables of restaurant is busy busy busy....
