My daughter and her 2 best friends recently surprised me with a breakfast reservation at Clay Café for my birthday. It was such a great experience. On arrival we were met by a friendly host and super friendly staff. We were seated in a sunny, cozy area with a nice view of the picturesque gardens.
Our food order was perfectly on time and the quality of food was nothing shy of excellent. We had cocktails with our meal as it was already "brunch" time, and our waiter assisted us in choosing suitable options to complement our dishes.
All the cutlery, crockery and glassware is superbly modern and tastefully presented, and the general decor creates an atmosphere that is modern, yet very homely. The entire venue is cozy and elegant, with cleanliness obviously being a top priority. Well done!
Our waiter was also well presented, super helpful with the crafty stuff and knowledgeable in terms of the menu and dishes on offer. It was quite clear that the waiters are well trained to be able to serve various tables as well as give assistance with the painting and craft work simultaneously - (not an easy one if I compare this to most other reastaurants where waiters only serve tables and still struggle to keep up) . Our "craft demo" was quick and informative and even included a show of ceramic pieces that the waiter had personally made in order to show us all the various techniques and colours etc.
Today, 4 weeks later (we were expecting it to take 6 weeks) we received our finished items, all in good order, and we're all very happy with the finishing of our pieces.
This was truly a morning quite out of the ordinary, but we can't wait to do it again. Thanks for making my birthday special !
See you...
Read moreI must say that it feel like being robbed... we had a booking and paid in advance... on the day of the event, we had a waiter who was almost never available and time again we had to find someone to assist us. He never assisted or offered the kids with painting ideas or techniques like we had in the past with other waiters, nor did he did regular checkups to see if we are fine, yet we were forced to pay the tip that did not seemed to be fair... we could not change the tip amount and was forced to pay it, even if the waiter did absolutely nothing to earn the tip... the tip was also based on the total amount that included the ceramic items to be painted and not on the amount ordered from the kitchen... how can you pay a tip to a waiter if he did nothing? You selected and painted an object, how can you then expect the client to pay a tip to the waiter on this? How can you be forced to pay a tip to a waiter that gave very poor service? How can you force clients to pay tips that they did not agreed on? You should really look into this, sorry to say but I can not support a company that is blatant dishonest and force clients to pay tips to waiters on items that had nothing to do with the waiter, or for non...
Read moreMy daughters and I visited this place for the first time yesterday. It was so relaxing and we really enjoyed our experience. When we were done I realized my gearlock key was not in the car so we were stuck. This was at 5.10pm. It was overcast and looked like a storm was looming. After contacting a locksmith and my son I was on my way inside to inform the staff of what had happened. A staff member, Malcolm, was in his car about to leave, when I told him of our situation. Without batting an eye he switched off his engine and offered to wait with us till help arrived. Everyone left but Malcolm stayed with my girls and I through the storm, hail and rainy weather for an hour till help arrived. This was so amazing and Malcolm deserves recognition fo being an amazing human being🤩 Thank you Malcolm for being a true gentleman and for offering support to 3 ladies that were stranded in the dark forest lol... I laugh now but it was scary... Once again, heartfelt appreciation to Malcolm🙏🏻👏🏻 Visit this place with family or friends. The vibes are awesome and the staff is friendly and helpful. We will definitely be...
