So today was the first time we decided to try your restaurant and treat my dad on his birthday. I reserved a table on Thursday and the booking was confirmed this morning. Much to our disappointment we arrived to be told our table is not available due to being busy and having too many reservations and confirmations. We were then told to wait as a table would soon be made available outside, bearing in mind this is where I specifically booked so I could keep an eye on my children. We proceeded to just wait and eventually left and then the manager tried to get us to stay buy offering a round of free drinks. That would not fix the fact that we left with my son in tears and hungry belly’s. So how about using a booking system that actually works and having a restaurant in a place like Johannesburg you need to catch a wake up as we just went and spent our money elsewhere. Will not be back.
Further to the above experience, I was contacted by the manager who apologised and took 100% accountability to this mishap that happened. He encouraged me to come back and try the restaurant again and experience what the restaurant is actually about and that what they offer. He also offered a certain service on the house and I have to add this is not what I was expecting when I initially complained. We decided to go back this evening and give it a bash and take the kids for a treat. Well we were absolutely blown away by the food and service. I remember when they first opened and i would always brag about how great the food was (and it was) plus the fantastic service . I have had a few minor issues with them but as a resturant its to be expected. So i booked over a week in advance for a romantic valentines dinner for my wife and myself . I was assured my booking was confirmed and we will have a fantastic evening . TO MY HORROR it was not to be. First of all we had to park on the other side of a busy road as there was no parking available in side or in there second parking lot. When we went inside we were told they are very busy and had to be directed to a very uncomfortable table . (This was done by a less than sympathetic manager) After siting there for about 15 min i could not handle it anymore as we were siting in the direct path of the waiters which bumped me in passing a few times.When our drinks arrived i was so thankful that my wife carries straws in her handbag otherwise it would have been difficult for her to drink her milkshake . I was quite upset and asked to be moved to a better table which they did . It was then that we realized that we no longer had menus or even a waiter . This was the straw that broke the camels back. We got up and left and on the way out when i said you have just lost a regular customer they just shrugged there shoulders and that was that. Read moreOrganized my team's end of year function at this place in December 2019. Specifically picked it because their site mentioned gluten-free options and when I called, this was confirmed. Thought a steak and salad would be simple enough.
We went in at lunch time. The place was not at all busy. Our waiter was rude and dis-interested - took forever to attend to us and was quite rude when I specified my gluten-free and dairy-free needs (I was the only one who needed a particular order; all others were normal orders).
As I always do, I explained that I have a serious medical condition and would get very ill if my food was contaminated with gluten or dairy. The waiter seemed highly unimpressed. When the food arrived and after I had already started eating, I noticed crumbs of feta cheese in my salad, despite having specifically asked that no feta be added to my salad - it was obviously added and then removed as an after-thought instead of a new salad being made.
When I brought it to the waiter's attention, he took the salad away without responding. The manager was then quite polite. The waiter continued to be obnoxious. The manager said they would compensate by taking my dish off the bill and giving free desserts to the others. I thanked him for this but explained that I was still going to be quite ill.
The waiter then came tell us we could have the dish off the bill but no free dessert and continued with his rude behavior.
