Forti Too has long been one of our favorite restaurants, but unfortunately, our recent visits have left us disappointed. While the atmosphere and service remain pleasant, the quality of the food has been declining, and the prices are becoming increasingly steep, making it harder to justify the experience.
We dined there yesterday, and while we typically enjoy their offerings, we encountered several issues. The kingklip was served raw, which was quite off-putting. To their credit, the staff rectified it promptly, and the fish was cooked perfectly when it returned. However, this initial misstep set the tone for the evening.
As for my favorite dish, the Lumaconiâdescribed as "pasta shells stuffed with beef, mushroom, oven roasted, creamy rosĂ© sauce, mozzarella, parmesan"âit was a real letdown. I've ordered this dish countless times before, and it's always been exceptional, but this time, it was completely off. Instead of the signature creamy rosĂ© sauce, it arrived with a bĂ©chamel sauce. When I sent it back, it returned topped with a bechamel sauce and separate tomato-based sauce, creating a strange and unappealing mix. The flavors were incredibly bland, with no trace of mushroom or the richness I'm used to, and the filling tasted like plain boiled mince, no love at all. So canât comment on main meals and perhaps service improved when wait staff see you will be spending more .. But on my last visit in July . We had to seat ourselves . Couldnât figure out who our waiter was , and then couldnât catch the attention of any waiter . We ordered coffees and desserts and one dessert was brought out before even the coffees were ready.
When eventually getting the attention of a waiter once done eating we were met with a subtle irritation and when asked how we found the service and were truthful , we ended up just being stared down until we left . This is day and light to the service I received just the week before at the Casino location from managers- however there certainly seems to be training /attitude issue with waiters accross the franchise .
