REFLECTION ON THE FLOATING BREAKFAST EXPERIENCE AT LEVEL 7
My sisters and I had been eagerly looking forward to experiencing the floating breakfast at Level 7 for some time. When the opportunity finally arose to celebrate our sister's birthday with this unique dining experience, we made the necessary reservation and paid for the floating breakfast in the pool, with a scheduled appointment time of 9:00 AM on Saturday, June 1st.
Arrival and Delay Upon arriving at the restaurant , we were directed to the sky bar and told that someone would come to escort us to the poolside where the floating breakfast would be served. However, after waiting for 40 minutes, no one had come to get us. We then went to inquire with Daisy at the reception about the delay.
Communication and Crisis Management Daisy informed us that the establishment's grill had broken, causing delays, but they were working on resolving the issue (she could have just voluntarily told us this when we came). We requested complementary hot drinks while we waited, (again lack of proactiveness, they could have offered this to us without us asking) which the establishment provided. It was not until 12:00 PM that we were able to get into the pool, and the food which was meant to be breakfast was not served until after 1:00 PM, a significant delay from the scheduled appointment time.
Dining Experience Despite the long wait, I found the food to be absolutely delicious, with high-quality ingredients and excellent preparation. The service from the waiters (Thando and Yandisa) was good. The ambiance and aesthetics of the place were beautiful, but the choice of playing amapiano music at 9:00 AM was not appropriate for the caliber of the establishment.
To enhance the overall experience, the establishment should:
Improve communication with customers about delays and provide regular updates.
Enhance crisis management procedures to minimize the impact on customers' experiences.
Carefully consider the music selection to ensure it aligns with the desired ambiance and atmosphere of the establishment. Overall, while the food and service were excellent, the significant delay and communication issues detracted from the overall experience.
With some improvements in these areas, the establishment can provide a more seamless and enjoyable floating breakfast experience for...
Read moreWow what a terrible experience . We booked and confirmed for valentines dinner . When we arrived we were taken to our table ( there were about 4/5 other open tables) only to be walked back and told to sit on a couch because there is no space for us . This was the first red flag but not a big issue as we assumed the tables were specifically booked by other people . We waited 15 minutes watching new people come in and being placed to sit before us at tables that was not the initial table the lady took us too. After 15 minutes we got up to ask if they forgot about us . Seems they did and suddenly scrambled to get us a seat . Well walking past all the tables we saw how beautiful they were setup , rose petals , glasses , cultural , centre piece , full rose for the lady etc , we simply got a centre piece with rose petals , a place to sit and wait for another 30 min before we had to get up and ask to be served a drink and given a menu . The lady once again scrambled and brought us half our drinks order , where we waited another 25 minutes before having to get up and ask for the rest of it . Why wait so long between you may ask , well because there were no waiters ever around to ask and when one did come they would not look at you and ignore you if you try call them . When they came with the rest of our drinks order they also brought the starter . This tasted out of this world and can’t complain there . Unfortunately that was the last we saw our waiter . About 50 minutes later a manager eventually made her way around and asked if we were okay . We said we were not and if we did not get our main course in 10 minutes we would leave . Well we got our food 9 minutes later , not what we ordered and with no cutlery , 5 minutes later the manager came back and asked if we were okay . At this point it was almost comical , we asked for cutlery and she brought back 5 forks and a single knife for the two steaks we didn’t order . What a joke for a...
Read moreVisiting Level Seven Restaurant I had the high expectations of the offspring of a renowned parent restaurant Signature known for its exceptional fine dining experiences. My visit to Level Seven left me sorely disappointed, and it was particularly disheartening when compared to the high standards set by its parent.
From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, it was evident that something was amiss. The hostess did a terrible job in giving us a warm welcome and escort, at the beginning it already lacked the sophistication and attention to detail that you'd expect from a restaurant with such lineage.
However, the most disappointing aspect of my visit was the service provided by the waitstaff. I had heard raving reviews about the impeccable service at Signature restaurant, but at this location, it was a stark contrast. It took a significant amount of time for a server to even acknowledge our presence, and when they did, the initial impression was not welcoming. It appeared as though they were disinterested and unenthusiastic about their job.
The service during the meal was equally subpar. There were frequent delays in bringing out courses, and we wouldn’t get our requests for a lengthy period, making the dining experience feel disjointed and unpolished. The staff appeared untrained and inexperienced, leading to numerous mistakes with orders and a general lack of attentiveness.
In conclusion, my visit to Level Seven was a let-down, especially when measured against the fine dining standards set by its Signature and other fine dining restaurants. . While I understand that each location might have its unique charm, it should never come at the cost of compromising the essential elements of fine dining.
I sincerely hope that Level Seven takes steps to improve its services, providing an experience worthy of its heritage...
